Duplicate Programs etc.
There are often duplicate entrys for one program version. this makes it hard to find out information. Maybe Deployments Tips should have a standardized name like <manufacturer> <program name> <version> <architecture>.
Also merging should be possible. So users can merge duplicated entrys or inform staff to merge this entrys.
39 votesDefinitely. We have some clean up to do and are working to see if we can provide a simple way to crowd source so helpful members of the community like yourself might be able to participate. Please know that we are working to clean things up as an ongoing task right now. For a bit more on this and how it is intended to work, please see my blog post on the matter at http://www.itninja.com/blog/view/tagging-stuff-on-itninja

Show top contributions from user
On the public user profile pages, I'd like to see top contributions highlighted (sorted by votes). Users should be proud of their contributions to ITNinja and be encouraged to share their profile page to show off their ninja skills.

Ability to invite specific users to answer a question
As opposed to a PM feature, keep my question public but let me invite specific members of the community to come and answer it. This way I can ask specific people questions, but everyone still benefits from the question and answer.

add custom inventory rules to K1000 inventory using ITNinja software library
First, add a section to the ITNinja software library to add custom inventory rules needed for software like dropbox, Chrome and others that do not have an entry in the Uninstall registry key to inventory.
Then, give a K1000 the ability to add this through the old AppDeploy add-in once it's changed to ITNinja.

Allow voting on comments
Upvoting an answer is great, but often times there are comments further down in the thread that should be acknowledged. I'd like to see a way to vote on comments in threads with something either similar to the upvoting system for answers or by just being able to give them a star or something similar.
17 votesI like the idea of a “this helped me” counter for comments. Voting doesn’t work so good here because votes change the display order so the highest voted are on top and comments need to remain a linear fix-ordered list.
The concern here is that there are several ways to vote, rank and rate things already and adding another could increase the complexity of the site overall. That said, doing something here is a good idea so we will do more research to determine what would work best.

Add the ability to format selected text as code in the comment field.
I think it looks cleaner to be able to format text as code on the comments as well. I currently enter a new answer to keep it legible.
16 votesWe will do this, but on the back end, it is a non-trivial change and that is the reason for the delay. Right now comments are plain text so to implement this we’ll need to implement a change to all comments, converting them to HTML.

Black belt reward confirmation
When a person reaches Black belt, he should be informed about his successful contribution and availability of the award through a mail. As we are unsure about the reward delivery. Is the Black belt award program still on?

The ability to save the Blog post as Draft should be implemented
Actually when you are writing a blog post that can be lengthy and with images as well the only option to save it is the save button that publishes it immediately.
Should be nice to have a way to save it as ''draft'' and only when you are satisfied with the layout and the content you really publish it.12 votesThis is a pretty good idea. Until we get around to implementing such a feature, you can actually “delete” it (we don’t really delete, just hide). Once you are happy with it you can “Show” it again. Deleted/Hidden content is only viewable by the author and admins, others just see a message that the content is hidden with a reason when available.

Award for reaching Grandmaster
While there's an awesome reward for reaching Black Belt, there's nothing for reaching grandmaster in IT Ninja. It would be great to see a form of recognition for earning this achievement on IT Ninja. The reward should be something presentable in any sysadmin's workspace, promote IT Ninja as a valuable resource, and be the envy of other items in the office.
9 votesI think we are lucky to have the budget to develop, host, support and manage this site already. The fact that we can send prizes all over the world is amazing. While I like the idea of adding something for the Grandmaster level, a physical prize may not be possible. Grandmaster was added so that those reaching black-belt still had something to shoot for. Maybe we should add a “Super-Grandmaster” level!

Display the most read Software Package deploys per week.
Appdeploy used to have a post on it's homepage to display the most frequently used and/or most popular packaging tips per week or month.
This was very helpful and quick way of stumbling upon software packages that you have already deployed that you may not have know that they had been updated and require repackaging and redeployment.
It is aslo a great way to learn new skills when you see a solution to a difficult software package deployment.
9 votesWe’ve got popular software listed now on the research page. Like AppDeploy it is based on all time activity and not just a week or a month. We’ll see if that is something we can work in down the road (as such I’ll keep this request in an Under Review state).

Truncated blog listing
When viewing http://www.itninja.com/blog I would like to see the latest blogs and maybe only the first 100 words of each instead of the entire blog post.
5 votesThank you. We will watch votes for this to judge interest so we may determine prioritization.

Clean the Questions and Blogs
By this I mean it would be nice to see vendor submitted information segregated from the user submitted stuff. Seeing 100 Kace blogs and articles is nice but only when I want to. It makes it difficult to find and sift through what people are asking or posting.
5 votesWe are looking for an intuitive way to provide this capability. One method would be to support the exclusion of certain tags in search results (right now it is inclusive). Would love to hear any ideas members may have for a good way to do this (will likely need to be some method of tag filtering)

Remove feedback buttons from site
Remove this feedback option as it really slows down the useability of your website! The initial page loads but you are unable to click on anything whil it is still loading the feedback tab at the side...
5 votesWe will be removing the UserVoice widget from the site and replacing it with a standard link in the site footer.

I'd like to see poorly rated content worth less
After a certain number of people rate something poorly, subtract points from the user based on the rating assigned. For example, 10 people have rated by blog post and it has a 1-star rating, therefore I loose a couple of points originally provided for having submitted it.

Legend shown next to tags indicating meaning of colors (or at least tool tip bubbles)
Colors are nice, indication of what they mean would be helpful.
Filtering of types/colors would be nice.
When user selects a tag, text entered to that point should be replaced by that tag.
Typing more text should always reduce list of tags, sometimes it seems to grow (and rather than or).
Shorter tags should sort ahead of longer ones.3 votes -
Inclusion of OS Patch Content
I'd like to see the site provide pages for OS patches in the same way software is covered to discuss deployment notes and associate questions, blogs and links.

Consolidate Activity Feed
I think the Activity Feed should be condensed/consolidated to not have 10 records in a row about the same topic. For example, if a question was asked and 3 people provided an answer, a simple "This question was asked and three people responded" would make much more sense than an individual notification for each response. That way, an activity feed could be helpful when first logging in to ITNinja.
See example feed below:

How to remove items from the activity feed
Question: How do I remove stuff from my Activity page that I don't care about any more. One general problem with this new site is that I can't find anything I want in the mass of too many search results or too long lists.
And please be specific in your answer. For example, don't say, "it's in your profile". Say, "after logging in, choose Activity, then the Interests tab, then scroll down and down until you see the heading "Questions, Blogs, and Links Followed". I think I'm doing twice as much scrolling on your site to find anything, as I…
2 votesWe will add a “clear activity” feature, but such does not exist at the moment. You can stop following things and they will stop resulting in updates to your feed, but right now you can’t remove items from the feed.
We are working on a major update to the profile area that will make it easier to manage what you are following.
A good suggestion, thanks!

Move the answered questions to their own tab.
Rename the ALL tab to Active Questions or just Active. It's good to see the answered question but a pain to scroll through all. Just seeing the active ones in their own tab makes it easier and an Answered Tab would let people look at the solution to educate themselves if they come across it.
2 votesWhile we don’t currently have a way to view just those questions that are answered in a tab, we do have a “Unanswered” tab which I think meets your need for a list of questions that are active at http://www.itninja.com/question/unanswered
Was this overlooked or were you thinking of something more?
