More traditional forum interface please.
The site now looks more like Symantec Connect, which is not all that great. The topics displayed per page is less, and navigation takes more clicks because of the site and space occupied by the new interface.
We’re happy to announce that we’ve launched an update tonight that improves the ability to browse questions. We hope this makes it easier to find and discover content in our tagged questions (the content previously in AppDeploy’s forums). Blog post announcing and describing the feature in more detail: http://www.itninja.com/blog/view/new-deployment-tips-and-q-a-browsing-features
In terms of Q&A, you can now browse by topic and see the title, tags, author, last updated, if it is answered or not, how many answers there are, etc. http://www.itninja.com/question
Further you can now browse by topic at http://www.itninja.com/topics
We are working to increase the ability to browse software now and expect to introduce that feature soon. However, in terms of moving to a “more traditional forum interface” this request is marked as completed because I believe we have done so. If you have specific feedback on changes or enhancements you would like to see they are most welcome. Our regular release of updates should be proof we are taking feedback seriously— your constructive criticism will help shape the site you want it to become so please continue telling us what you think!
Just a quick comment.
This new site is still amazingly horrible. Who signed off on this disaster? Were there any usability testing? And, if there was, how in the world did you produce measurable improvements?
Using this site is like typing while engaged in a Chinese finger trap; you might get to where you want to go but you'll suffer unbearably along the way.
Appdeploy was so much easier to find information, itninja is awful in comparison it seams like style over content - The UI is a disaster and not a very pleasant experience.
Devolution at best.. you have gone from everything logically laid out to what seems a scatter gun approach.
PLEASE bring back the old format. This one just wastes my time. I haven't been able to find anything useful since the change. With the old site, I was a Ninja. I could find things in a snap. There's too many steps in finding stuff now and they fail. How about an old fashion browse through forums threads to see what's interesting and new? Ahhh, I miss the old days.

I should have waited to post my suggestion...I was still irritated and ranty at the moment which is I guess why it was merged with this idea and my comments removed. So let me try again, even though this is planned.
IT Ninja is almost entirely unnavigable. You can get basic top information easily, but specific content or specific subjects become a task of patience and the tedium of excessive clicks rather than simply being available within a predefined section.
I like the general blog look, but only for the blog. It makes sense there where rendering help in the form of Q&A&moreQ doesn't take place or where finding a specific post within a myriad of other posts isn't as laborious since there are fewer to begin with.
Forums work exceptionally well for this kind of content management. Just because the site is "evolving" doesn't mean that it needs to reinvent limbs that worked exceptionally before. Removing the forum feels like lopping off a leg rather than removing a vestigial limb.

Definitely a hugely frustrating change. The old site, while slow, at least was easy to navigate: Go to the forum desired, and all threads with new activity were not only at the top, but clearly marked whether there was content added since the last time I read them. And they STAYED PUT in the list.
Now reading a thread then going back to the list, any threads except the 5 newest have been removed. Right now, it looks like I'll be spending more time clicking "Show More" than gaining knowledge.
The main problem for IT-ninja its not user friendly.
On Appdeploy you could easily browse throu diffrent topics without not even knowing of what you are looking for.
On IT-ninja its more of a "search based" function witch is time consuming and you need to know exactly what you are looking for.
So if you could bring back that user friendlyness it would be great.
Lets say im looking for a way to deploy a program or plugin with SCCM, then i dont know where to start, should i go to research and deployment tips, or should i go to package develpment, or software development??
On Appdeploy this was much easier.
Can't find anything I search, all I get "please refine your search" for too many tags. Those kb entires I did find after furiously hitting different guesses for several minutes didn't have any info. Just to get to know that this place *doesn't* have any info about the program I was looking for took way too many minutes of valuable time.

First of all, the new layout is so completely different from the previous well known layout that nothing is remotly alike. The old site was more logical and it took about 30sek.-1min for a normal person to get around the first time you found the way there. This new layout does not in my opinion match the content it is going to show. It is more like a blog(that is not good), and you have to jump a lot in and out of windows and views to get a hold of what you want to see.
I can't for one good reason understand why you just converted to such a drastic change of the site without using a poll from your users first.
Babysteps is a more common approach when you are trying something new without scaring everybody away(like facebook have done over several years). If no one wants to use this site anymore then it will become obsolete pretty fast. Facebook/blog interface and things like that can be a good thing if you are trying to sell something(ads etc.) but i can't see any banners here so what is the use?
While I wouldn’t go as far as to say 'sucks' I gave this a vote up because ITNinja bears no resemblance to the high level peer support forum that AppDeploy was, the quality that was promised has not been delivered. The change over should not have happened yet IMHO. Maybe it’s just the KACE users (which I am one of) which feel this way because before we had our own little corner where we did our thing and now we seem to be drowning in spam, I don’t know.
It is frustrating for those of us who don’t have the same level of functionality or usability which we used to have. I hope no-one at KACE/AppDeploy is put off by any of our comments, we mean well and we know you guys do too.
See http://www.itninja.com/faq under where all the AppDeploy stuff went heading.
Does that help clear up where to look?
where did all the package knowledgebase go?
I think John has made a very good point here. Before it was much easier to find and help people. Now it feels like more of a chore. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping people through things to learn with them but if I have to search 5 questions at a time with the 'more' button, or sift through a bunch of tags it doesnt make it intuitive. It also seems to take responsibility off the poster to know what group they should be asking.
ITNinja sucks how, specifically? Some examples and use cases would be very helpful and much appreciated.
