How can we improve the K1000 GO App?

  1. Change colour in tickets

    Colour is showing as bright lime green. Very hard to read against light background. This should either be changed to an easier to read colour, or option to change the colour yourself.

    This was previously closed with no detail. tickets are still very hard to read

      I would propose placing an option that displays a report with the ticket data and a field on the ticket that we were able to collect customer signature using the phone's touch or tablet as we conclude a call of a ticket.

      • Allow non admins to manage their tickets

        When you have many ticket queues setup for multiple departments. Many of the ticket owners are non admins so they can't use the app to manage their queues.

        The app currently has an admin category and a user category. It would be great if you could add a section for Queue Owners.

          The interface for devices looks great, and you can see a ton of information, but most of my techs only pull up a device to remote into it. I would like to see a "remote control" button on the device that you could assign to an external app (like the web interface) such as DameWare, RDP, etc. This may get complicated if the KBOX is outward-facing and the phone/tablet is on the internet vs. it being on a VPN or an easily routable subnet, but the initial implementation could simply pass the IP of the device on to the remote…

            This is currently under review – is there a particular remote control product that you would want to see leveraged..Bomgar, RealVNC, RDP,, etc…

          • Support for hand-held barcode scanner(s) with K1000 Go

            We use hand-held barcode scanners from Socket Mobile for use with our Asset Tracking application. The particular model we use is the CHS 7Ci. It uses Bluetooth and works with iPhone/Android/Windows smartphones/tablets.

            We like it because it is faster than using the smartphone camera. It is also more precise when trying to scan a barcode that is next to another barcode (very hard or impossible in some cases using the smartphone camera).

            We would like to see something like this supported with the KACE solution.

            • Unassigned Tickets count is not updating

              Service Desk Summary page shows "Unassigned Tickets" = 0.

              If a new ticket comes in, that number doesn't change. Pulling down that list looks like it should do a refresh, but it does nothing.

              The only thing that seems to refresh the counts is to switch to another page and then back to Home. E.g click on the Service Desk icon it will show updated counts and then when go back to Home those updated counts will be displayed there. The problem is that if you are monitoring the Service Desk Summary for new tickets, you'll never see them.

                  data already shows on the main inventory list, along with machine name and logged in user, it's just not a selectable option for sorting

                  • Ticket System Date Not Functioning

                    Here’s a screen capture of what I see… Notice that there are dates, like the last week of January, that I cannot select from the calendar due to the Save / Apply Changes bar being in the way. I tried zooming in and out to see if this would help, but there were still dates that I cannot access. I also tried selecting a “wrong” date and then modifying the date by typing in the Date field. The field does not allow me to key in a date. I also tried moving the calendar to February, but I still cannot…

                      • Add the ability to update time worked in a ticket

                        My company has to show the time that is worked on a ticket. We use these metrics to show that more employees are needed. Being able to update the time in the field would be most useful as I may not remember to do that once I return to the office.

                            I love how we can setup Monitoring Alerts to be pushed to the K1000 go app.

                            It would be great to receive a push notification if a Monitored Computers goes offline.

                            • Include Barcode Scanning for locations

                              The GO app is great. One thing that would make it better for folks who have a need to keep an accurate inventory, is to include the ability to scan barcodes to enter the location information.

                              Here is what could be the workflow of updating asset inventory information via the GO app. A tech scans the Asset barcode with the GO app then selects the Location field to assign the asset to a location, and then scans the office's location barcode, which then populates in the GO app.

                                WOL works wonderfully on our subnet but of course not for other offices. We do not control our router configuration and the magic packet will not be able to forward to our remote offices. So in other words WOL is only useful in the location where the KACE server is physically located.
                                It would be extremely helpful if our replication servers in the remote offices not only contained patches needed there but also had the same WOL capability as the KACE. This would eliminate the need to configure the routers and would be local to the subnet it’s needed in.

                                  Going through history looking for this information is time consuming. Should be able to view the Inventory/Asset Record to see who last modified it

                                      Sometimes I need to get the serial number/service tag, or computer name, or IP address from a device inventory item for another app. It would be very beneficial to be able and copy/paste a 10-15+ long digit instead of by hand.

                                      • a print function in the Android K1000 Go App

                                        I have Android KitKat 4.4.4, and with the free app 'Lets Print Droid,' I have the ability to print to windows and cups network printers. It would be nice if K1000 Go App had a print function so that I could print tickets from my phone.

                                          I'd like to see original date a Device checked (created) in to the K1000, this is my method of verification a new device(PC or Mac) assigned to a user has checked in. Only 4 fields are available on the K1000 go app: Name-OS-User-Last Sync.
