  1. Add wake on LAN to Patch schedules.

Add a check box to add Wake-On-LAN for any computers that are part of a patch schedule. This way you do not need to define WOL schedules and worry about them being in sync with your patch schedules.

    • Wake on Lan to be Not Dependent on ARP Cache

Would like the K1000's Wake-On-Lan implementation to function more like a program called Spiceworks. The appliance currently dependent on the ARP cache. KACE WOL is dependent on the ARP cache of the network gateway device (i.e. router) to determine where to send the Wake-On-Lan packets to. The concern is if a machine is turned off for an extended amount of time (e.g. days), the ARP cache would be cleared on his network gateway devices, and the K1000 won't be able to wake up the device.

        • Schedule WOL for Specific MAC Address

I have laptops that connect using WIFI during the day. I want to schedule a WOL for these devices during the night on their Ethernet connections. For scheduling WOL, Kace is remembering the last connected MAC address. So I have problems getting WOL to work consistently. I would like to schedule WOL for specific MAC addresses.

          • Hold WOL schedules for holidays

It would be great to be able to 'hold' a scheduled WOL event for a holiday. We use many WOL schedules to accomodate different work hours and we need to turn them all off prior to every holiday and then re-schedule them after the holiday. Placing them on hold and then releasing them from hold would be faster and easier.

            • wake on lan

Add wake up button to computer "My computer" tab that is shown to users on login. This could then send the magic packet to the users computer.

This would be useful for off-hours remote waking of the computer for users who VPN to the network and then use RDP to access their work computers from a personal another work computer.

              • Ability to change port used for Wake-On-Lan

In my environment, some of our network gear is unable to pass port 7 through for wake-on-lan which therefore means we can't remotely wake our systems in some areas with KACE. It would be exceedingly helpful if we could specify what port could be used for wake-on-lan so we can use a port that is already being forwarded (either on a case by case basis or as a global config change).

                • Wake-On-LAN (WOL) schedules need to have a "Weekdays Only" option

There needs to be an option like "Weekdays Only" for scheduling WOL. Currently we have to make five schedules with five separate labels to accommodate a weekday schedule at 6 AM and another set of 5 for 7AM and so on.

                  • Allow WOL across subnets without relay or allow the relay agent to

The old method of WOL in 7.2 and below was able to send packets across subnets. The new relay agent method cannot. If all machines are powered off in a subnet, then it is not possible to wake up the machines at all starting in version 8.0. I have had to resort to using another product for WOL scheduling. This feature was a nice selling point. I'm pretty sure the other suggestion was to have the option to use a relay.. not be forced to.

                    • wake on lan

We need the ability to push wake on lan to the hard wired ethernet port of a device every time. Not just the last adapter it checked in with. We want to be able to update laptop carts at night but when they check in on wireless during the day the wol packet goes to the wireless nic instead of the hardwired connection which makes scheduling wol processes at night useless. If the wol packet would blast to all nics or just the hardwired one we would be able to successfully schedule them to update.
