  1. Dashboard for Help Desk

    I would like to see a better solution for reporting on the Help Desk side, similar to the data on the summary page; Managed Operating Systems, Tasks in Progress, Distributions, ect.
    I am currently reviewing 3rd party to pull this data an make it live, and would much rather the data be live in the KBOX instead of using flat data such as HTML, excel or another format. With these reports, if I want to run historical data I need to change my SQL, save the excel data or go through several steps on the help desk section, but there…

    • Allow payloads (scripts, managed installs, file syncs, etc) to deploy in a specific order

      I would like to have scripts deploy in a specific order just like the deploy order for Managed Installs. Also I would like to order managed installs and scripts together so that an install happens before a script runs and vice versa.

      • CC'ed Users ability to view tickets they are copied on

        It would be great if a CC'ed user be able to review a ticket in his/her ticket queue

        • K1000 8.0 themes

          The 8.0 version theme is very bright and hurts the eyes. I think it would be good to allow several themes, especially to allow a company to theme the site to be how they would like it.

          • make "machine action" buttons also working for other browsers than IE

            it would be nice if the machine action buttons also would work with chrome and firefox

            • Kagent: Show icon on client machine (with info)

              It would be great to have an option to show the kagent icon on the system tray on client machines (with an indicator show connected/disconnected).

              If the user double clicks on it, it should show information about what managed job is scheduled and for when and what jobs were sent to it (mini history).

              This would help local techs to provide better end user management/troubleshooting.

              It wouldn't hurt to also provide (when double clicked on the icon) a window that shows a list of authorized apps (software library) that can be installed by the end user.

              • Warranty and driver support for non-Dell hardware

                Support other vendor hardware like HP and Lenovo (IBM) for warranty and driver views, reports and downloads.

                • SFTP used for KBOX backup transfers.

                  We would like to see SFTP used for KBOX backup transfers instead of FTP. Our KBOX fails security audits. Also we don't want our important systems data to be seen by anyone.
                  Also would like to have the ability to change the read-only password for these transfers.

                    Option built into backup to copy backup to another location.
                    Currently you can do this using a 3rd party method but as this is an enterprise appliance the file transfer option should be included. This should also be secure (encrypted)

                      • Patch Stat Reset

                        Create a reset stats button that will recalculate all patch stats on the main Patch screen and the Patch List Screen. These stats occasionally get out of synch with the actual machines that need to be patched or that have failed to patch.

                        • Inventory - collect all IPs bound to a network interface

                          In the Inventory, the network interfaces for a Windows machine only lists the "primary" IP address. This is confusing because inventory run on Linux machines list every IP address bound to each interface. The inventory should be configured to list all IP addresses bound to the network interface on Windows; not just the primary IP address.

                            Approval task in a process: Ticket approver should have the ability to approve via email versus having to create an approval ticket within a process. If an email update of @approval=Approved works for a ticket within the process, it should work for the approval step as well.

                            • Secure the Packages Folder Immediately

                              All Help Desk Ticket Attachments and Software Managed Installs are stored in a publicly accessible folder (http://kbox.yourdomain.com/packages/1234/installer.exe or http://kbox.yourdomain.com/packages/hd_attachments/1234/image.png). This is a huge potential security flaw and likely a major software licensing violation (since you are in effect providing a public redistribution of licensed software). There are some significant management benefits to exposing your KBOX to the Internet however this issue represents a substantial undisclosed problem even if it is limited to the internal WAN/LAN.

                              • More RAM Detail

                                I imported the Attachment from Appdeploy for "VBS Script for Installed RAM DIMMs as a Custom Inventory Field" that was provided by awenzel@kace.com on 1/21/2011. http://www.appdeploy.com/messageboards/tm.asp?m=70701&mpage=1&key=RAM&;#. The data looks nice in the individual inventory record in KACE, but the format of the data in the MACHINE_CUSTOM_INVENTORY.STR_FIELD_VALUE field make the data practically useless from a reporting and planning point of view. I would like to the this quality of data normalized in a table where each RAM slot has it's own record assiciated to the MACHINE_ID.

                                • Add more fields to "Create Smart Label"

                                  Currently, you can only define 4 criteria for either Patch Listing "Create Smart Label" or looking under Inventory "Create Smart Label".

                                  I would like the ability to have available or to click to add additional criteria fields. This ability is CRITICAL in being able to properly define patches.

                                    In 5.5, we have implemented new smart label capabilities in many screens. Smart Label improvements in Patching and Service desk will be targeted in 6.0
