  1. .MST Upload in Managed Installation Detail Screen

Its hard to believe that this isn't already in the system. I am aware I can set up a Scripted install to complete this, but wouldn't be better to just upload a .mst file and have the Managed Install handle the formatting of the install command?

It could have a "Browse..." button to upload an .mst file when a .msi file is detected in the associated file section. Yes, two files will be associated to the install, but they can have the same name (ex: installme.msi and installme.mst). When the .msi file is deleted the other would be as well.…

  2. Single user based deployment

We assign installations to user based groups, to keep software persistent when users change machines. Would love to be able to add an individual user to an MI, much like adding a single machine.

  3. Internal way to preserve the checksum of a managed install

When updating a large .zip for managed installation, the checksum is removed when the file is placed in clientdrop (or when moved to the drop folder). When the installation kicks off, since the checksum of the file does not match the checksum the installation is expecting, the .zip is removed from the target PC. A Kace on-site implementation specialist had a brilliant idea: Use kdeploy -hash <filename> to determine the checksum. Then run a SQL query in the ticketing rules to apply that checksum to your .zip file. Worked perfectly. This could easily be included in the k1000 and would…

  4. Show Connected when reviewing status of managed installs

It would be great when you review managed installs to see why a machine did not install if the Connect icon showed. Connect and push now button would be great.

  5. Stage Package Installation on Clients

When a user has a laptop and primarily works remotely the option to install a package before user logon does not work since the user logs in before a VPN connection is established. This results in some managed installations never installing as the K1000 does not stage packages for installation at a later time on the client. If we could have this feature added that would be helpful in managing the software on remote access clients.

  6. Add integration with AutoPKG for Mac application deployment ease.

https://github.com/autopkg/autopkg is a tool for software distribution packages on macOS. It has the ability to notify and pre-package application for re-distribution. Within the tool various output recipes can be built. KACE should build one of these for Managed Installs that would enable the packages to be imported into the K1000 or K2000 as KPKG files.

  7. Fujitsu PC Support

We have Dell and Fujitsu HW. It would be helpfull, if K1000 supports the Fujitsu HW more. Especially driver- and OS- Installation is to be done in other steps than with the Dell HW. The Dell Integration is very good. If the Fujitsu Integration would be on the same level, our work would be done easier...

  8. Software version sort

A modified sort to move the most current version of the software to the top of listings in software inventory and managed installs. Currently a software title with version 99, 100, and 110; 100 is at the top, then 110, then 99. A simple but powerful improvement when working with a title with a lot of versions or frequent updates.

  9. Add installation verification to Managed Installations

We use Managed Installations to deploy software to users, including company-wide distribution. Right now, if I were to disable and turn it back on, it will re-distribute to ALL Users instead of just users that do not yet have the software.

Installation verification is already available in Scripting, please add it to Managed Installs!!!

  10. Show the Default Installation

Show the command line for the default install that will run that way you can tweak it if necessary in the Override default installation. What is the "Default installation" if there is a zip file? run all bat files in the zip? or just the 1st one? or Install.bat or setup.bat?

  11. Implement software templates out of the box for managed installs

Add the ability for the SMA to automatically reach out to vendors websites to download software at the click of a button to make managing your software repository easier for the initial installs instead of adding software manually for each software title.

  12. When deploying MI's, allow a predefined log file that includes target machines

When targeting machine names, instead on naming one by one, why not include an option for a log file that has the target machines in it?
The way it is now, these targeted machines need to be added to a label, then added to the MI.

  13. Set the intervals for the MI/Script (Snooze) Timers

Allow us to set the - currently fixed - time intervals for the Snooze prompts and other popup scenarios. The minimum being 15 minutes and the maximum being 90 by default, as well as to be set by the user only seems a bit short-sighted in a large-scale office environment where end users may be confronted with these short intervals repeatedly when e.g. having Teams meetings or other conference calls.

  14. file sync

We were trying to deploy standard office templates to all our users to their roaming profile folder. (e.g.C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\PowerPoint)

If the File Sync works on all user profiles with the %username% on a computer It will sync seamlessly.

I was able to achieve the same using script but the file not reach on a computer if it was offline.

I like to perform the same via FileSync for better management.

  15. Managed Installations - Status

I'd also like to better bulk edit for status. Currently you can enable/disable this changes the execution to either "Disabled" or "Anytime" I'd like to be able to choose any of the execution options.

I think that the search needs improvement. I'd like to be able to search by Execution.

  17. Grant Run Now permission to users for managed installations without giving Write/Delete permission

In terms of support, we have some helpdesk employees who have restricted access to the K1000 admin portal. In case a software deployment fails, they should be able to restart the managed installation, which is usually done by selecting the "Run Now" button inside the managed installation. By giving the permission "Write" for managed installation, the users have access to features which they shouldn't be able to use, like i.e. the "Delete" button.

  18. Managed Install warning is worded incorrectly

When removing all labels/devices from a managed installed, a warning appears with "You have not limited this distribution to any labels or devices. Are you sure you want to deploy to all devices?" with the option to choose Yes or No. Choosing Yes does not push the install to all devices as the warning box seems to indicate it will. The install will not push to any devices.

My thought is no warning or a warning "you have chosen not to install to any machines" or something similar.

See case 3260078 for more details if needed.
