  1. Retain scripting logs data for 7-30 days

Currently the logs clear everyday. I'd like to be able to look back at the logs in the days and weeks after the scripts have been run.

  2. Import computer names from a text file or excel sheet in the script

When i am installing a script, i would like to have a option to download the list of computer from the text file. I have been using this feature in PDQ Deploy and it is very useful.
Attached is the screenshot of PDQ Deploy

  4. Add Script Descriptions and Notes to Run Now

When someone selects a script from the Run Now drop-down, it should show the description and and notes for that script.

  5. All Devices button

Would like the ability to either:
Remove the All Devices check-box entirely from the Scripting and Distribution section.
    or
Make the All Devices check-box only available to specific "Roles" or specific Labels.

The issue we have is that our Organization is a large multi-national company with around 40x offices all over the world.
We chose to setup our Dell Kace K1000 (k1100) appliance wth a single ORG as it gives us a global view of all our corporate assets, along with a global view across multiple service desk queues within each office.

We want ALL of our Admins to be…

  6. Supress Command Prompt window option

It would nice to have an option to suppress a command prompt window when run scripts on the clients. When scripts are run on the clients from Dell Kace, Command Prompt windows pops up and stays until the scripts finish execution.

  8. Only Allow To Run Enabled Scripts

The feature that makes it possible to execute only the scripts that are marked as enabled I would like to get back.
It have worked previously but a while ago we noticed that this feature had been removed.

We have some scripts that we save as disabled to be used as templates when creating new ones, we also have scripts disabled while creating them but now all our technicians can choose among these scripts in the Run Now tab. Which makes it possible that they send out corrupt/faulty scripts which might also creates errors for the users.

    Also, when creating…

  9. Wait for user interaction of message before proceeding

It would be very useful if it was possible to have a message box appear as part of a script that would not allow the script to proceed until the user acknowledges the message.

For example, a process that is currently running needs to be closed to proceed with the script. At present if a message box is displayed the script will display the message and then continue without the need for the user to acknowledge/interact with the message. This could well cause loss of work which could be avoided if the message that advises the user to save work…

  10. Add the ability to verify a file/directory does NOT exist while scripting tasks.

In the verify stage of scripting tasks, you can check if a file/directory does exist, but there is no option to verify that they do not. By providing this feature, it would be easier to deploy based on trigger files instead of always relying on the registry.

  11. Restart services and kill processes

I would love it we could start, stop, restart, or kill processes and services directly from the appliance. The most common use I can see is to kill and restart a print spooler. The ability to remotely kill other "stuck" processes directly from the admin console would be really nice too!!

  12. assign/remove a manual label to a computer as a step in a script

Would be nice to assign a label to a machine during a script. This would allow for running scripts in a particular order based on the label they are assigned.

  13. Allow parameters for shell scripts

With the recent Mac High Sierra root bug we have a need change the root passwords on all our Macs but we can do this with KACE as there is no facility to set the password as a script parameter and we would end up send out the password in clear text in the script. Our InfoSec wisely said NO to this. Please add a parameter field(s) for shell scripts so we can automate Mac password updates.

  14. Run now status page for SCHEDULED Kscripts

The run now status page is somewhat usefull, for Online kscripts that were run NOW. However, for scripts that are scheduled, you need to have a view to see their success failure rate.

  15. Results of scripts that are scheduled should also be aggregated and "reported" like run now scripts

When scripts are scheduled to be deployed at a later time, the results are not reported like scripts that are deployed using the "run now".

Change the tab "Run Now Status" to "Scheduled/Run Now Status" and then report the results of scheduled script deployments there as well.

  16. Use the original editor for smart labels to edit them

We have recently taken over our spain office, and as such we want to avoid deploying software and patches in english to their machines, the machines in inventory have a specific IP ragne, so we want to edit our smart labels to exclude that IP range, this would be a whole lot simpler if we could just edit the label using the same "create smart label" fucntion used to create it, but in order to do this we need to add SQL statements to the label. my suggestion is to have a "edit label in original editor" and this takes…

  18. Run a script once on a client. If successful the script should not run a second time on the client.

Run a script once on a client. When the script successfully completed, set a checkbox in the computer inventory, so it does not run a second time on the client.

  19. Script Log enhancement - include output of launched programs

When Scripting, I would like to be able to create more complex log files on the server (to be found in "Search Logs") that could record the output of a launched program. We can currently create complex log files locally on the machine but then would need to log into the machine to read them.

  20. Offline KScript "RunAs" option

It would be nice to have an option to run an offline kscript as a specified user. As it is right now, I have to run the offline script and then call a second online script so that I can get the permissions needed from the Admin account.
