Increase character limit for Initial Message in Scripting
It would be nice if we could get an increased character limit for the Initial Message window that's used to notify users before an Online Script is ran. It is currently much shorter than most message windows that can be created throughout the SMA.

Retain scripting logs data for 7-30 days
Currently the logs clear everyday. I'd like to be able to look back at the logs in the days and weeks after the scripts have been run.

Apply or remove manual labels as part of a script
Add a 'New Step' option to apply a manual label, and another to remove a manual label.
This would allow you to apply or remove different labels depending how you set up the script - so if part of a task was successful, or if remediation fails.
One example would be if you had a script on a schedule set to run on a number of devices under a manual label. If the script is successful it could remove the device off the label so the next time the script runs it would not target that device.16 votes -
assign/remove a manual label to a computer as a step in a script
Would be nice to assign a label to a machine during a script. This would allow for running scripts in a particular order based on the label they are assigned.

Allow parameters for shell scripts
With the recent Mac High Sierra root bug we have a need change the root passwords on all our Macs but we can do this with KACE as there is no facility to set the password as a script parameter and we would end up send out the password in clear text in the script. Our InfoSec wisely said NO to this. Please add a parameter field(s) for shell scripts so we can automate Mac password updates.

All Devices button
Would like the ability to either:
Remove the All Devices check-box entirely from the Scripting and Distribution section.
or
Make the All Devices check-box only available to specific "Roles" or specific Labels. The issue we have is that our Organization is a large multi-national company with around 40x offices all over the world.
We chose to setup our Dell Kace K1000 (k1100) appliance wth a single ORG as it gives us a global view of all our corporate assets, along with a global view across multiple service desk queues within each office. We want ALL of our Admins to be…

Supress Command Prompt window option
It would nice to have an option to suppress a command prompt window when run scripts on the clients. When scripts are run on the clients from Dell Kace, Command Prompt windows pops up and stays until the scripts finish execution.

Only Allow To Run Enabled Scripts
The feature that makes it possible to execute only the scripts that are marked as enabled I would like to get back.
It have worked previously but a while ago we noticed that this feature had been removed. We have some scripts that we save as disabled to be used as templates when creating new ones, we also have scripts disabled while creating them but now all our technicians can choose among these scripts in the Run Now tab. Which makes it possible that they send out corrupt/faulty scripts which might also creates errors for the users.
Also, when creating…

Restart services and kill processes
I would love it we could start, stop, restart, or kill processes and services directly from the appliance. The most common use I can see is to kill and restart a print spooler. The ability to remotely kill other "stuck" processes directly from the admin console would be really nice too!!

Add the ability to verify a file/directory does NOT exist while scripting tasks.
In the verify stage of scripting tasks, you can check if a file/directory does exist, but there is no option to verify that they do not. By providing this feature, it would be easier to deploy based on trigger files instead of always relying on the registry.

Run now status page for SCHEDULED Kscripts
The run now status page is somewhat usefull, for Online kscripts that were run NOW. However, for scripts that are scheduled, you need to have a view to see their success failure rate.

Use the original editor for smart labels to edit them
We have recently taken over our spain office, and as such we want to avoid deploying software and patches in english to their machines, the machines in inventory have a specific IP ragne, so we want to edit our smart labels to exclude that IP range, this would be a whole lot simpler if we could just edit the label using the same "create smart label" fucntion used to create it, but in order to do this we need to add SQL statements to the label. my suggestion is to have a "edit label in original editor" and this takes…

Run a script once on a client. If successful the script should not run a second time on the client.
Run a script once on a client. When the script successfully completed, set a checkbox in the computer inventory, so it does not run a second time on the client.

Create a machine label from PCs that failed a script run
If I do a script "Run Now" on all PCs in the organization, and a handful of those PCs fail, it would be nice to be able to build a machine label from that list of PCs so I can re run the script on just those PCs that failed to run the first time.

Script Deployment: multiple label selection change to AND rather than OR
When selecting labels for "Limit Deployment to Selected Labels" it would be helpful to be able to select whether or not the deployment should go to any machine with any of the labels, or only machines that have all the labels. The only way around this right now is to create labels based on labels, which is messy since we currently don't have the rights to remove labels.

Script Log enhancement - include output of launched programs
When Scripting, I would like to be able to create more complex log files on the server (to be found in "Search Logs") that could record the output of a launched program. We can currently create complex log files locally on the machine but then would need to log into the machine to read them.
