  1. Exclude ip addresses or devices via label or smart label in KACE

Our servers are managed by WSUS and need KACE to not install an agent or patch the servers.
We need a way to exclude the servers from KACE.

  2. Add Milestone Systems patches and updates repository to Patch Manager Catalog

Add Milestone Systems patches and updates repository to Patch Manager Catalog to stream line patch management for all security camera systems running with milestone systems since the manual software updates for these systems are very time consuming would be a great sales case for alot of enterprises using milestone software to monitor their sites

  3. Ability to disable/hide "all patches" checkbox in patch schedules.

Using the "all patches" checkbox in a patch schedule will cause software installations if the subscription accidently includes software installers. I would like to see the ability to disable/hide the all patches checkbox similar to disabling the all devices checkbox.

  4. Allow Microsoft servicing stack updates to available in the patch catalog

Microsoft releases servicing stack updates (SSUs) to ensure that Windows can download and install patches successfully. These are classified as Security Updates but are not recognized by the SMA. They need to be created as managed installs and applied to machines BEFORE regular patches. It would be nice to have the ability to download these into the SMA patch catalog and deploy them like any other patch to systems without having to create separate MIs.

  5. Patch based on an CVE number

Would like have an option that patch for a CVE number, that KACE will automatically choose different KB for different type of OS.

  6. Increase Size or Location of Notification Window

Most of my users barely notice or ignore my notifications when patching. I would like for the ability to either resize my notification window or to move its location such as the center of the screen so they are forced to see the message.

  8. Separate Notification for Reboot under Patching

Currently when using Patch Management, the user can postpone the reboot. However, it is confusing to the user as they get the same notification when they defer or are out of deferments for rebooting. It would be beneficial to have a separate notification window when they can no longer defer or postpone the reboot.

  9. allow applications to update without kace deploying the software. for example office 365 chrome updates Adobe.

allow an exception rule for application to update. At the moment chrome does an update. Kace will redeploy the version it has assigned a label to the software.

Office 365 updates monthly thus changing the version number which means admin have to re-deploy office 365 instead of letting office update freely.

  10. Request option to "turn off" Operating System patches for K1000 (Systems Management Appliance)

I would like the option to DESELECT any OPERATING SYSTEM PATCHES on the K1000 (Systems Management Appliance).

we only use the K1000 for applications, not for patching the OS

  11. Bring Full Installers Back to Patching

Since the change from PatchLink to Quest providing patches, the Full software installers for Chrome, Adobe, FireFox, etc... are gone. It was so much easier to have that available and push to computers rather than manually downloading and scripting each time a new version comes out. There is an option to download Full Software under subscriptions but it is only for old java and silverlight. Please bring this back!

  12. Include support for Windows 10 for Virtual Desktops (WVD In Azure)

Microsoft's recent GA of WVD is recognised by KACE as a version of Windows 10, but is not yet recognised for updates and patching. As this is likely to become increasingly used by customers over the next few months it would be good to understand what can be supported and what patches can be included (for example I can install Chrome manually but the SMA will never update it because the build isn't recognised)

  14. Dependent Reboot

It would be good to add a dependent patching feature. This would be useful when patching servers. I would like to be able to automatically initiate a patching process or a reboot of an application server after the associated database has been patched.

  15. Express patch download

Many time, device patching will at "Downloading" when a KB is needed. A patch download will fix that.

The issue is that everytime Patch Download process will first retrieve Catalogs, and then download KB. Retrieve Catalog may takes lots of time, especially in the morning at weekend, guess everyone is doing that.

I know we should done a Detect job first, yes we are doing that, the problem is that some device just need another KB after one KB is applied.

Can we have a "Express Download" that download KB only? I thnk New Catalog is not nescessary since Detect…

  16. Schedule the reboot on the Patching Schedule task

Would be good to have the ability to set the time for rebooting on the patch Scheduler.
For servers, we need to reboot on a specific time, and we never know when a patch deploy will be completed after starting.
For Example: Patch job starts at 9 am. If a reboot is required, reboot at 10 pm.

  17. Allow more flexibility to patch quarterly. Even custom schedule does not allow...

Today it is not possible to patch or at least easy to patch on a quarterly schedule. For example, "every 3 months, on the 3rd wednesday of the month at 2am." I think its doable if you say "every 3 months, on the 17th of the month at 2am". Patch schedules are based on freebsd cron which does not allow all characters. One cron site allows it this way "0 0 2 ? 1/3 WED#3 *" but Kace does not support the "Wed" or "?" characters. Also It would be nice to be able to view the "task schedule" beyond…

  18. Bring back the view to show ALL patches installed on a device

You used to be able to view ALL patches installed on the device until patching changed to Quest and OS is 2016 or Windows 10. Now the view doesn't show anything more useful then the Installed tab. Wish they wouldn't take features away and require you to enter ideas into user voice.

  19. Improvements to Patch Subscriptions

I would love to see additional options for patch subscriptions. For example, we run the KACE agent on Windows Servers for Replication repositories but we manage the patching separately for our servers. I would like the ability to choose only Windows 10 Pro 64bit and not have KACE show patches in the catalog for Windows Server. Additionally, I would like the ability to choose which version of Windows 10 patches to be downloaded. Say my environment is running on 1903, 1909 and 2004 for example. I would like to choose only those versions of patches to be downloaded. This would…

  20. Clear progress message in patching

When setting up a patching schedule, you can set a progress message to be displayed when patching is in progress on a computer. Currently, this box has no OK button to close it. I propose adding an OK button to allow users to close the box.
