  1. When using no reboot option, notification to let the user know they can reboot

    We use the no reboot option for servers. We would like the ability to leave a popup notification that updates have been applied and reboot when they can. Also show the patches that are being applied

  2. Dell Update Schedule Detail page needs fixing

    I don't know if this is a localization issue or what, but in our version of KACE SMA (8.0.320), there are some confusing and/or broken options in the "Schedule" section of the Dell Update Schedule Detail page.

    I was directed here by support, but this isn't really a feature request, this is a flat-out bug IMO.

    In Normal patch management, there is a checkbox to enable run-on-reconnect if a device is offline at the scheduled time, and input boxes for "delay run" and "end after", where you can enter a number of minutes for each setting.

  3. Additional patch schedule parameter: offset schedule by X days/hours

    The existing run on the {first/second/third...} {Monday/Tuesday...} scheduling option isn't useful for us. Yes, Microsoft puts patches out each Tuesday, but we always patch a certain number of days after Patch Tuesday.

    Having an offset value of x number of days after that would allow us to set a patch schedule once, and it would always fit our schedule.

    Example: "Run on the Second Tuesday of Every Month at 21:00, Offset by 2 days" would set our patch schedule to run at 9pm the Thursday after Patch Tuesday.

    This can't be done with the existing options. If I set it…

  4. Tray icon color changes if patches are pending

    For the KACE agent tray icon, I would like to see the color be something different, maybe yellow, when there are patches pending that need to be install. That way, when a technician say is working on it, he could go ahead and push patches to the machine to see if a patch resolves an issue.

  5. Patch Management and Dell Updates

    In a managed installation you have the possibility to perform the installation at boot. It would be helpful if you also introduce these settings for Patch Management and Dell Updates.

  6. Maintence windows by label

    Allow to build patching windows to be set based on labels like scam does containers. This way all managed installs and patching can be limited by a label instead of having to build this out for all managed installs and patching.

  8. Send e-mail report each time the supported applications and operating systems for patching documentation is updated

    Please implement a way to notify users via e-mail each time the "KACE SMA - K1000 Patching Support" document is updated. Currently, we do not know that this list has been updated until we manually open up the link and view the attachment, which potentially could lead to compliance issues.   9. Add an option to set a designated time to download Files after the Signature files download

    Since a machine dect is needed after a Signature File download before needed Patch Files can download, an option to set a designated time to run the File download would help manage the process in addition to the 2 options of After signature download and Every 30 minutes-12 hours.

    As it is now the File setting "After signature download" is ineffective until a machine detect is ran. Once a machine detect is ran, machines will not update the latest patches because they still have to download. When a Patch Schedule runs, the devices will stop at Downloading and will not…

  10. Dashboard view \ news feed of recently released Microsoft patches

    Dashboard view \ news feed of recently released Microsoft patches. This would be especially true for Feature updates and service packs that Kace\Quest does not deploy from subscription. Would like to see them listed at least in news feed instead of looking at multiple sources such as Microsoft etc to ease in making sure we are on top of latest updates.

  12. Move patch message window background

    Please give us the ability to minimize the initial patching in progress message, or put in the background so it doesn’t disrupt user workflow.

    Currently, it sticks to the foreground until the patching process is complete.

  13. Fix Patch superseding in detect only schedules

    As per case 4747082:

    If a Windows asset has new (non-superseded) patches installed and is scanned using a detect only schedule that uses a label containing superseded updates which have NOT recently been deployed to the asset, these patches are incorrectly detected as required.

    Looking in the logs, it is evident that Kace calls dism to only look for the package in question and not packages that Kace knows supersedes it.

    The result is that it is impossible to completely rely on detect only labels to generate reporting for accurate compliance.

  14. Clear Failed Patch Deploy status if already installed

    I have a SQL patch that shows as not patched with a deploy status as Failed. Was told since the patch was already installed that the detection can't detect it as needed so it will remain in RED as Failed and this behavior is as expected. Was told I needed to put this in User Voice to get enough votes to get someone in development to fix this. Management sees the patching reports and shake their heads as to why Quest can't fix this so it doesn't show up on reports as a failure. My ticket was open for nearly…

  16. NOT to USE the "OPERATING SYSTEMS" option to pick from when no devices are selected nor Labels selected nor "All Devices" selected.

    This case it will incidentally push widows updates to machines that you never had selected. It is not a good thing. Otherwise the "ALL DEVICES" option is illogical.

  17. Manually import patches to the catalog for software not normally patched by Kace

    I have a script to install software not supported by Kace. I want to be able to import future updates to that software after it has installed into the patch catalog.

  19. User notification of pending patches

    We have a lot of remote users that don't always connect to the network on patch night. We have them patch on next connection. It would be nice if they would get a notification of how many patches they have installing.

  20. ScanSnap Updates

    I don't know of a way to automatically update the scansnap applications in KACE and I don't know if the vendor allows it. This forces us to log on under our admin accounts and install the software every time an update is pushed out by the vendor. A true nightmare.
