Merge user accounts
https://kace.uservoice.com/forums/82699-sma-k1000/suggestions/2938682-ability-to-merge-users
this post was archived. I feel it should be re-visited as it would be a great QoL upgrade for those of us that work in enviroments with contractors that get converted, or in the case of company mergers.

Fix Logo Display on Login Screen
At present (v11.1), and since at least version 6, KACE SMA offers the option to upload a Console Logo used on both the login screen and the upper left of the console after login.
No matter the dimensions of the image you use, the logo is reduced to ~58 px tall in the console; this behavior preserves the logo's aspect ratio, and there is no abnormal distortion.
However, on the login page, there is a fixed-height CSS value set for the logo, which stretches or shrinks the image to 300 pixels tall. The width is a relative value of 100%…

Targeted Notifications
An easy method to use KACE to notify end users (pop-up) depending on the running processes/services on a device.
I.e. Send targeted outage notification for application (app.exe), KACE inventories and only targets these endpoints that are currently running app.exe.
Previous company I worked at had written an in-house app that looked at running processes (or any other identifier, services etc) and produced a pop-up notification that end users had to acknowledge (took focus) before continuing to work.
It could be used for general comms, change notice reminders, security event notification etc. Would be ideal if it could utilise smart labels…2 votes -
Add functions to single select forms to sort custom values
Much like the query function for select fields, you should offer other functions like ASC: or DESC:
This way, if we have large, manual comma separated lists that we want to maintain in alphabetical order we don't have to find where new values are alphabetically and go plug it in the appropriate spot -we can just plug them on the end.
So if we have a list of cities that we service we could have the custom field entry be ASC: Columbus, Akron, Gallipolis, Dayton, . . .
And the form would default the drop down options to display as…

Give the admin the ability to change the UI
The flat-look UI in 8.1 is a disaster. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to emulate Win10? The stark white with light grey is very hard on the eyes. Give the Admin the ability to revery to a proper colour scheme or even better the UI from 7.x.

Update survey emails to streamline feedback submission
Would like to see the survey emails contain the 1-5 star rating as a hyperlink, so that the user can just click on a rating and have the survey result logged with a single click. Then the user can be directed to the website so they can add comments as well if they so chose.
My company is looking to drive survey engagement and we think that streamlining the feedback process could increase the number of responses we are seeing.
Thank you,

The pop-up in Chrome when logging into K1000 should be fixed
It is annoying to close that pop-up every time when a user logs into the admin site. If SM K1000 wants to become enterprise software, Quest should consider every UX detail.

ISO 8601 yyyy-mm-dd date format
Version 7.2 appears to have removed the ISO 8601 date format of yyyy-mm-dd, as all of the English localisation options are only mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy. Please return the ISO date format as an option.
Part of the problem is that Canada uses all three date formats, even in different federal government departments, even though we adopted ISO 8601 in 1989, but the Canadian localization for dd/mm/yyyy isn't helpful.

Improve Advanced Search Logic
Currently, as of version 7.1, the Advanced Search (which is leveraged by labels, etc) uses a graphical line-based approach to scope your search, with only basic OR/AND operators and very confusing (visually) "grouping", and this makes following or adjusting the logic of a search extremely difficult and confusing.
A simple fix would be to change 'grouping' to include parenthesis on either side of each respective line item to provide visible boundaries for our constraints. Additionally, or alternatively, you could provide the summarized search logic below all of the advanced search lines to get a better idea of what the logic…

Stop wasting space at the top of the page
The static frame at the top of the web UI wastes a lot of space. Please make it much smaller.

Navigation Menu - pop-out when hidden instead of unhide on navigation
I would love to use the hide Nav Menu feature, it would improve crucial horizontal screen real estate, but I never do because every time I click on something in the menu it just un-hides it.
It would be markedly better if when toggled hidden the menu just stayed hidden and becomes a pop-out instead. This functionality isn't new, may sites do this. KACE's "View by:" also does something similar though has overlapping issues.
I brought this up at the last conference.

Integrate notes in Label wizards
The ability to define notes (and edit notes) via the wizard would be ideal. Also having a mouseover event that shows notes in the UI in places other than the label management screen.

Allow sorting by column under security>Detect and deploy patches>(schedulename)>Show All
I have more systems in a patch schedule than are visible on one page and it would be helpful in monitoring progress if I could sort them by status, name, or other collumn.

Include scripts, distributions, WOL, and patch schedules as machine action options
This way we could easily and quickly run a script, deploy a software package, or initiate a patch schedule (for just that machine) right from the machine list or machine detail page. Would be extremely handy, browser-agnostic, and save a lot of time.
For example, if you have the two free Bomgar licenses and chose the hosted option you could initiate a Bomgar session with one or two clicks from the machine page without sending an e-mail message. Or if you are working on getting your patches up-to-date you could focus on one machine and kick off a patch schedule…

Clickable links in Asset management
Item(s) in assets should be CLICKABLE links especially if the item(s) have pages/information related that is located on the KBOX.
This enables MUCH faster navigation when seeking information in the Asset database or within the kbox.

Add alphabetical links to pages in Software Inventory listing.
In addition to the Next Page link it would be useful to have links to A, B, C etc. pages to navigate to the software title listings beginning with that letter

Ability to rename "name" field for assets
Enable us to rename the "name" field for assets. For example, if I have a "Purchase Order" asset type, I want the "name" field to hold the PO number. I can instruct the users to use it in that way, but it would be much more intuitive if I could rename it. I understand that it's a mandatory index field, that's fine. let me rename it though so it's more appropriate for the asset type.

Smart user labels
Smart user labels
Now it is not possible to add an smart label for users.
In the budget code, I have an number that is connected to the organisational structure. By using the seach function i can give a label to users based on a search on this budget code, but I have to relabel my users white every move inside the organisation. White smart user labels, I have to do this only once.29 votes
