Label awareness: software is installed when placed into a label - uninstalls when removed from label
Similar to group policy software installs via active directory, it would be ideal to have labels react likewise. When a computer is placed into a label, it would install whatever software or managed installs assigned to the label - when the computer is removed from the label, the software would uninstall at next check-in instead of remaining on the pc, leaving unnecessary / not utilized software across the inventory.
364 votesThis is a great idea. We will need to first blend the software and managed install functions into the software catalog in order to do this. This is something that will take a while to implement, but certainly has our interest.

Software inventory aging
I would like to see an aging process for removal of software that is no longer installed but resides in the software inventory. It wouuld be nice to include an audit process where software is flagged after 90 days of a zero install count to add to a smart label then report before removal from the table.

Inventory Browser Plug-Ins on Mac Computers
Please add to the inventory of software for Mac computers the folder /Library/Internet Plug-Ins. Currently on Windows machines I can see in inventory what version of the Flash player plug-in is installed, but I cannot do this for Macs.

Fix inequality symbols and statements for software version numbers with periods.
I would like inequality symbols and statements to work correctly and consistently for numbers with periods, such as "10.1.102.64" in Smart Labels, Advanced Search and in Scripts for plist number comparisons & registry value comparisons.

Force kiosk operation on a designated machine
I think it would be greatly useful to have the K1000 provide a simple check-on/check-off option to force a designated computer to operate in kiosk-mode, with a list of programs that should be allowed to run.
In our environment, we have two desktops that were set up specifically in two conference rooms to subject job candidates to a psychological assessment, as part of our job interview process. Lately, I've noticed a growing trend of employees booking those conference rooms just to use the computer, which makes it unavailable for use by HR.
That's why I'd like to lock down those…

Show inventoried machines without selected software, process, startup item
When looking at software, process, startup, or other computer inventory details, often the important item is not what machine have the software, but what machines do not have the software. Whenever computers are listed, I would like the default to be to show machines with the item, but to to be able to click a tab to switch to showing machines in inventory without the item. An example where this would be useful would be switching to show machines without security software installed.
