  1. Offboard Backup Retention Settings

    Offboard backup retention settings.

Currently the v9 offboard backup feature over SFTP is capable of deleting files, however there is no way to configure it to do so. It would be nice to not have to manage the offboard location files independently.

  2. Backup organisations separately

It would be nice to get the possibility to backup organisations separatley, so that you can restore just a single organisation/database instead of the whole KACE.

  3. Offboard Backup Base File Getting Updated Daily

Currently, the offboarding backup behaviour appears to copy both the daily incremental AND the base file every day. This is evidenced by the base file's modified date updating daily even when it already exists in the offboarding share. We sync our offboard backup share to the cloud which results in a huge amount of unnecessary data transfer every day and multiple 'versions' of the base file in our cloud storage. Can the behaviour be changed to check for the existence of the latest base file in the offboarding share and only copy it over if it doesn't exist?

  4. Backup

    1. There should be a useable option for backup to a different location. With the option on .scr-files executing via cmd-line is a horror for everyone to manage and be responsible for infrastructure-security and backup/restore.Support for Backups
    2. Support for snapshot-based hot-backup over vmware-/ hyperv-tools with i.e. Veeam or Quest's own RapidRecovery

  5. Ability to ftp the exim email logs kbox_logs.tgz

I'd like to be able to get the exim email log from the kbox.
Currently it looks like the only way to get email logs are a manual download (Settings, Support, Troubleshooting Tools, K1000 troubleshooting logs). These appear to be overwritten every night.
I'd like to get some historical data from the exim logs.
Could you write a script to push this information into the kbox_logs.tgz file before the exim log is overwritten?
    Thanks!

  6. Backup Status Widget

Add a dashboard backup widget (with date of last backup, number of backups etc.) and/or dashboard critical alert if the last backup failed. Alternatively a backup report that can be scheduled, or an email alert if the last daily was unsuccessful (stated clearly in the subject line).

  7. Add a progress bar or percentage count to show progress when backing up KACE database since it takes so long.

When doing a K1000 backup it takes about an hour causing the user to wonder if it's frozen, and tempting them to do a reset which could corrupt it, so adding a progress bar or % count would be very helpful to show that it's moving.

  8. Give the ability to change the default sftp port

The Offboard Backup Transfer Server can only listen on the default SFTP port of 22. I'd like the ability to change that listening port since the device I'm trying to SFTP my backups to listens on a non-default port.

  9. ftps

We're running 9.x and we'd like to back up to a cloud storage system that supports ftps but doesn't support sftp. ftp without encryption wouldn't be a good solution for sending data off of a secure network.

  10. New Idea for Backups

I would like to see an option where you can schedule a shutdown of the Kace appliance or database to allow a VMware snapshot to be taken. In our situation we have a large deployment where the Kace backup takes 6 to 8 hours a night to backup. During this time the system is very slow due to the backup. Having such an option would reduce the backup time of the database from hours to minutes.
