    Please add Adobe Flash 10.3.183.5 for both IE and Non-IE to the K1000. These are security updates to Flash 10.3.x, so I believe they should be included within the next 7 business days.

    The patch feed supports versions 6.0.65 – 11.3.300.257 for IE, 8.0.22 – 11.3.300.257 for non-IE, and 9.0.47 – 11.3.300.257 for OS X

  2. Allow "last ## days" for patch release date search criteria

    Smart labels for patch groups using filters could be much more automated if there was an option to specify "last ## days" for the patches. Currently, a date must be specified, and this requires re-filtering, adjusting the smart labels and updating the patch schedules. If this could be changed, it could be set on autopilot (i.e. scan for last 90 days of WinXP SP3 critical application patches - done).

    In 6.0, we replaced the old Smart Label interface with the new 5.5 design. You can determine a Smart Label by it’s release date and select “is within last” option.

    6.0 has implemented pagination on this and many other pages. Available in the first half of 2014, look for announcements for training on KACE Konnect, Facebook, and our InkPad newsletter.

  4. Notification before escalation

    It would be nice to have a notification before a ticket is about to breach escalation, say at 75% of the escalation time you would get an e-mail stating that said ticket will be exceeding SLA

    This functionality already exists through the use of custom ticket rules in our Service Desk module.

  6. Instruct patching what not to download

    A nice option instead of limiting patch downloads to labels: Tell the patch stream what not to download. Example: don't download Trend updates, etc. That way I'll get everything else and won't miss something.

    5.4 has now been released. It will automatically be advertised to your appliance over the next few weeks. If you would like to upgrade earlier, please contact Support and they can accommodate you.

    The 5.4 release will provide the ability to only download the content that is applicable to the environment. In other words, only those needed patches will downloaded by the K1

  7. Support is needed for Kace with VMWare View

    Kace support is needed for VMWare View. It has been reported by some that the Kace agent breaks View.

  8. Allow more advanced search and custom view fields

    Add more fields to the advanced search options / custom views to further refine searches.

    Also, allow more options in the pull-downs, such as searching by approver.

    In 5.5, we implemented a new Smart Label/ Advanced Search template in many areas. In 6.0, we have completed the rollout and you should have more flexibility and control

  9. Patch Rollback

    The ability to rollback patches exists in other patching software. I would ike to see it available in the Kbox rather than having to come up with a script manually for each patch that needs to be rolled back. The need to rollback doesn't happen often, especially with a test process in place. However, from time to time one comes along that needs to be rolled back. When that happens it needs to happen quickly and not wait on the creation and testing of a script, or the manual uninstallation of the patch.

    Brooke, this function exists currently in the K1000. When creating a new patch schedule, use the Patch Action “Detect and Rollback” or “Rollback” to uninstall a patch

  10. Increase the character limit in patch and reboot message fields

    I would like to give users my users more clarity regarding the patching progress and reboot pausing/accepting/forcing process. Being limited to 255 characters really limits the amount of information and instruction you can effectively provide, although it does force... creativity... in language. The acreage of the pop-up is large enough to support at least 3x that amount of text.

    The number of characters allowed has been drastically increased as part of 6.0

  11. Ability to add more than 256 characters to the CC list on a Ticket.

    256 characters are not enough for a CC list. We have a lot of employees here at the college and its not uncommon to have to involve a lot of people on 1 ticket.

  12. Longer Description field in Inventory Screen

    The column for description in the Inventory module would support many more characters than is currently allowed by the field in the database. You get an ellipses after about 20 characters. Please expand to 40-45 characters.

    Columns have been made customizable in 6.0, allowing you to determine how wide they should be. 6.0 is currently slated for release in the first half of 2014, look for announcements on Training in our Inkpad newsletter or our Facebook page.

  13. List Internet Explorer version in "Computers: Detail Item" Summary section

    Would nice to quickly and easily be able to tell what version of Internet Explorer a PC is running. I created custom rules to add it to the Software Inventory List, but even then I'm surprised that wasn't there to begin with.

  14. Remove Duplicate Userinit Setting

    When installing the Kace Agent it replaces the Userinit registry setting in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Winlogon. When you sysprep a machine and remove the KUID when the system deployed the Orginal Userinit setting is added so upon logon the Windows explorer will launch the default location (Win 7, Library, XP, My Documents). This bug is OVER 7 years old (http://www.itninja.com/question/userinit-registry-setting, http://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/article/Windows-XP-SP3-upgrade-appends-a-setting-in-the-K1000-appliance-Registry-key?action=artikel&cat=2&id=662&artlang=en). There is already a sysprep install switch (CLONEPREP=1) which doesn't add the KUID.

  15. Better Custom View Options

    I would like to see an option in custom view to add more than 4 search criteria if needed. Also an option to filter by queue would be great. The status filter is broken because there is no way to filter "Unassigned" even if you select Null.

    My end goal would be to have a view that would do the same as the built in "Mine and Unassigned" but allow me to only show a specific set of queues.

  17. Asset

    It would be a very nice to be able to have sub categories under assets like you are able to in the service desk. Also the ability to use check boxes in both asset management and the service desk will be another useful tool.

  18. K1000 Agent upgrade overwrites values of 'userinit' registry key

    When there is an upgrade to K1000 agent it:
    - moves the values from 'userinit' to 'userinit replace'
    - overwrites these values in the 'userinit' field to contain 'kuserinit' ONLY and drops off anything else that was listed in here

    NOTE: both these registry keys are located in hkey_local\software\microsoft\windowsnt\currentversion\winlogon\userinit.reg)

    We use finger print software and at installation of this fingerprint software it places the 'dpagent.exe' in the 'userinit' field ALONG with 'userinit'. Once the K1000 agent upgrade happens - you can imagine all our finger print readers quit working and the calls to our Help Desk from users began as…

    This was actually fixed in v6.0. We no longer overwrite the UserInit registry, but will just replace userinit.exe with KUsrInit.exe and preserve the other values.

  19. Service Desk: Answer to Sender with automatically filled Ticket Nr. and Title

    If i click on the sender i receive a new mail with the sender adress to submitt a new mail.
    I would like the ability that this mail is filled automatically with the ticket nr and the title of the ticket. Today i have to copy this data from the ticket with copy and paste

    Then it was also nice, if i have mails to a extern techician when the Asset Dates where filled in. Today i have to copy an paste all interessting Points (Serial Nr., Modell Type, IP-Adress and so on) to the new eMail.

    We enhanced the email functionality in version 6.3 so that each Comment entered can be immediately sent via email. The email template can be customized to include any ticket details you desire.
