  1. Inventory - collect all IPs bound to a network interface

In the Inventory, the network interfaces for a Windows machine only lists the "primary" IP address. This is confusing because inventory run on Linux machines list every IP address bound to each interface. The inventory should be configured to list all IP addresses bound to the network interface on Windows; not just the primary IP address.

  2. Add alphabetical links to pages in Software Inventory listing.

In addition to the Next Page link it would be useful to have links to A, B, C etc. pages to navigate to the software title listings beginning with that letter

  3. Allow processes that are contained within a single ticket

Current processes are great for times when there discrete individuals with discrete tasks. I'd like processes (or whole separate feature) that allow process-like stages (approvals, default comments, changed fields, new due dates, etc.) but where all this occurs in a single ticket.

An example use case would be something routine that can't be finished in a single interaction. So maybe the help desk gets the ticket, maybe uses a canned "Hey thanks for your ticket, x will happen now", the process state changes to update owner, due date, auto-filled comments relevant for step B of the process, etc.. Then once…

  5. Adding Items to Labels from the Label Edit Screen

I would like to be able to add scripts, managed installs, patches, users, etc. directly to the label from the label edit screen without having to go directly to each item and add it to the label there.

  6. Batch assign asset field values based upon smartlabel membership

It would be great to have an ability to create a smartlabel that identifies a group of machines, then use that smartlabel to assign a static value to an asset field for those machines.

  7. Asset - Ability to make quick changes

A quick edit button which appears on hover for each individual field in the table view which you could use to make quick changes while still being able to view the information of all assets as a whole? This could tie into the bulk edit idea by Andrew to use one quick changed asset as a template for bulk changes.

  8. Inventory KBOX

The KBOX, real or virtual is a computer and an asset. It should have option of including itself in the computer inventory automatically.

  9. Log for deleted inventory

It would be really helpful to create a log for all asset records that get deleted. The log should include if the record was deleted by the MIA deletion script versus by a user. If it was a user, list the user that deleted the record.

  10. User Downloads - The info of the OS and size should be displaying through managed installations have zipped file uploaded.

All managed installations have each software with the supported operating systems and a zipped file uploaded instead of direct installer file (app, dmg, msi, or exe).

However, the info of the supported OS and file size won't be displaying under the End User Portal (user downloads).

  11. Enable detection and removal of Google Extensions

Allow for detection and removal of Google Extensions. Syspanda ("Finding & Removing Malicious Google Chrome Extensions Via KACE K1000") describes a method for creating a Custom Software Detection, however it only seems to be applicable for a single user. This is not useful in a multi-user environment, such as classrooms or labs. Support suggested I post this suggestion, in addition to continuing to test/develop the script myself to compensate for multiple users, or to contact Professional Services.

  12. Force kiosk operation on a designated machine

I think it would be greatly useful to have the K1000 provide a simple check-on/check-off option to force a designated computer to operate in kiosk-mode, with a list of programs that should be allowed to run.

In our environment, we have two desktops that were set up specifically in two conference rooms to subject job candidates to a psychological assessment, as part of our job interview process. Lately, I've noticed a growing trend of employees booking those conference rooms just to use the computer, which makes it unavailable for use by HR.

That's why I'd like to lock down those…

  13. Ability to place Login box anywhere in the Welcome page.

Sometimes I want/need to add more to the Welcome Page but I don't want colleagues to have to scroll for the login box. It would be great if we could insert it where we want it.

This is under consideration but not planned for the next release, Please continue voting if you’d like to see this feature prioritized for a future release.

  14. More granular control of what a use is shown on computer information tab

Our users find the information on the computer tab too detailed. Would like to be able to just show the first table, not software, hardware. . ..

  15. Ability to assign preferred networks for agent installation

This could be done by a simple weight rating for preferred subnets. The idea is to give a way to tell the KACE to try to use LAN connection before wireless connections.

  16. Email All Service Desk Users or subset based on tags

Not everyone has an Exchange Server or GAL and it would be helpful if there was similar functionality built into Kbox. It would be very similar to the Alerts feature, but instead of "Deploy to All Machines" you would have the option to send to all users. Just like you can limit the broadcast to groups based on tags it would be nice to be able to limit the emails sent in the same way.

  17. Show inventoried machines without selected software, process, startup item

When looking at software, process, startup, or other computer inventory details, often the important item is not what machine have the software, but what machines do not have the software. Whenever computers are listed, I would like the default to be to show machines with the item, but to to be able to click a tab to switch to showing machines in inventory without the item. An example where this would be useful would be switching to show machines without security software installed.

  18. Display Queue name on Service Desk Email Notifications configuration page

When editing email templates, it would be extremely helpful to have the name of the Queue listed at the top of the page. When making updates to templates in multiple queues, it's easy to forget which one you are in (for example, if you get interrupted). When that happens, you have to cancel your changes to find the queue name and then start all over again.

  19. Ignored IP Addresses be a set range in General Settings

Our environment (academic) has many different layers of networking. And since my KBOX reaides on a different subnet than the rest of my clients, I have to put fill out the Ignore Client IP Address Setting. But I have to do this for each computer's IP address (or AP) out there.

I propose we have a range of IPs we can submit to ignore

    e.g. - 0.0.0.0, 127.0.0.1, 192.168.1.0/24
