Support Single Sign-On login options
Would love to be able to have the option to enable pass-through autentication for AD. We currently use AD integration but users need to type their log in details again.

UPDATE
We successfully integrated in the QAS toolset and will be shipping SSO for Active Directory as part of the 5.5 release this summer.
We have identified a technology that will allow us to deliver SSO. The Quest acquisition has provided Dell with a new technology called QAS (Quest Authentication Services). The QAS team is in the process of extending their capabilities to work with FreeBSD, the K1000’s operating system. It’s early, but we are encouraged and are hopeful to have a solution implemented sometime this summer.

This does not work for enterprise domains with sub OUs. I am on a campus with several departments that have their own K1000. We can't keep our K1000 computer object and user object in the default computers OU. Moving the objects to a lower OU where I have admin rights breaks the relationship, despite Kace docs that say otherwise. We need the ability to create the object in our own OU.

I see Signon as an option in our K1000 under security. the options are Domain, ad username and a/d password as well as force join.
So do we have to specify an a/d account to user for a/d integration? Can this be the same account we use for ldap authentication now?
How does this work.? Can all users auto-signon to the kbox w/o having to enter their credentials for help desk? and if someone at a pc logged on as another user, can they enter their own credentials?
thanks -

Download and install the latest version and then you'll need to configure it. This will involve adding the machine to your domain etc. Following the admin guide for v5.5 is your best path to success.

@Roderick
Release candidate for update 5.5 is available now which includes SSO, I'm currently running up a virtual k1000 to test it out and play, I think they were aiming for a late august full release if anyone else can confirm? -

Can you let us know what the status of SSO currently is?
We are planning to deploy the ServiceDesk functionality to our customers, but as along as the SSO doesn't work, none of our customers will probably use it (too much efforts for them).

Do not buy this tool unless it has SSO.

I'm evaluating Kace, SCCM, LanDesk, etc and this is nice to know... this might be a huge red flag on how mature the product is.

We need this before we can use the Kace Helpdesk. Do we have an ETA yet?

Awesome. We hope this can move along pretty quickly.

Please yes, as soon as possible. This would make access and security much more stream line.

This cannot come soon enough. Asking users to login via re-typing username and password is a major barrier to them using the KACE user portal. I anticipate capturing much richer info, from them if this barrier is removed - and delivering a more efficient service as a result.
