Enable metering for AutoCAD and Revit products
Currently, software metering does not collect data on AutoCAD products (software that runs acad.exe) or Revit products (software that runs revit.exe).
Other Autodesk software, including AutoCAD LT (acadlt.exe) can be metered.
As I understand it, and correct me if I'm wrong, the Software Catalog is based on the old ASAP Software's eSmart program, specifically, the software identification, catalog, and metering. Back when we were customers of eSmart, AutoCAD software was initially not metered, but we made a request to have it metered, and their software engineers were able to make that happen. eSmart's metering tracked the usage of vanilla acad.exe and reported that, but not the specific add-on modules that were loaded along with it (Mechanical, Electrical, Plant 3D, &C.).
If KACE could even meter acad.exe usage, it would be more beneficial than having no information at all. I understand that metering the add-on modules may be impossible due to every version of AutoCAD launching from the same acad.exe file, but if I know what version(s) of AutoCAD are installed on a computer, and how long acad.exe was open, we could make better informed decisions on the purchase of future licenses.
I believe revit.exe is not metered for similar reasons.

This is due to the way Autodesk products typically operate. https://support.quest.com/kb/146088/unable-to-meter-autodesk-revit explains the issue. In some cases you may be able to meter a supporting feature such as a sync tool, workflow manager, or auto-updater. While not ideal, it may be a means to an end.

This is very concerning since it doesn't work. I work for an engineering firm and would imagine other engineering firms using the Kace product would like this fixed. The sooner the better.
