Additional end-user options for patch installs
I would like to be able to give my users the flexibility to schedule installs of patches at a time that suits them ... for example, when the popup appears on the client PC, offer them a range of options such as:
-- install now
-- remind me in 1 hour
-- remind me at 11:00am
-- install when I next shut down

Hello,
As mentioned, there is nothing in the 9.1 release notes about any improvements to this feature and from taking a look in our upgraded appliance there are no additional or refined options.
Can you please clarify why this has been listed as "Completed"?
Best,

There's nothing in the 9.1 release notes about these kind of improvements to patching schedules. Because we have seen too little development my CIO has decided to pull the plug on Quest so this is our last year using this system. Bye-bye.

I looked through release notes and don't see any detail about this. Where could we read more about the changes?

Marked as "Completed". Can you elaborate?

I agree. I don't want my end-users to just see a notification and just instinctively click "OK" and then get ticked because their workstation rebooted and they lost their work. I have already posted a topic for a request to move or resize notification windows so I can force my people to read the popups from KACE. In the meantime, I have my scripts setup to run the Windows shutdown dialog box telling them they have 2 minutes to save their work before an automatic reboot.

"Several new options for snoozing patches are being targeted for a release in 2019." - Ken Galvin
Can you elaborate on what snooze options will be added? Will there be anyway to initiate a path schedule OnDemand via a script?

Hi,
Please also add a "final call ntification" if the user is given the option to postpone for x times. -

Better late than never ... still, nice to see that my idea, posted nearly 7 years ago, has been up-voted so enthusiastically.

I am looking for manual 'Patch me now' option. I have several devices that run in Public address scenarios. Instead of a patching job running in the middle of a presentation, I would like to offer the ability to let them patch as they walk out the door.

For Patch Scheduling:
Could we also have another schedule option for Patch Every-Other-Week ?In our organisation, we want to patch twice a month but currently, there is no option to allow this.
Instead we have to create 2x patching jobs, for Week1 and Week3.Would be awesome if we could have a single patch job with scheduling option for Every-Other-Week.

Agree with this strongly - we find that if users cannot dictate their own time to patch, they get into a habit of ignoring it until "it goes away".
In this case, we have the K1000 set to patch anyway to ensure security, which causes user irritation. -

We work in the Education sector - our users have requested the ability to choose a time for reboot. For instance reboot at 4:00, etc.

5 1/2 years submitted, 3+ years "Under Review", 6th most voted for request. KACE could have been well ahead of the game but instead of focusing on features and enhancements that add value like this one, we've gotten a new UI overhaul every update instead.

I totally agree with this request and many of the opinions below.
I was figuratively pilloried by my laptop user base after I pushed out patches and their systems rebooted unexpectedly and without recourse. Based on the options selected they should have been able snooze for quite a while, so the reboot caught everyone off guard.
The wording of the existing features should be updated ASAP as this is only a clarification of the existing system. I doesn't make sense to have the administrative interface say one thing and the user notification another.

Fabulous idea. Can anyone explain why this can't be put in to action?

I agree with Robin Coombe, however i'm not even getting the dialog boxes from KACE anymore.

Can the Text on the final Reboot Prompt be changed from the current "OK" to a very specific "REBOOT".
Putting an "OK" on a Windows dialog box - no end-users ever read this, they just see a dialog box with the works OK and click the button ..... then suddenly find their computer is REBOOTING and they've just lost a morning's work.
The ideal button text would be:
KACE Reboot Dialog Box:
Change YES to REBOOT
Change NO to SNOOZEFor the final Reboot Dialog box
Change OK to REBOOT
