Manual agent check in from client
I would love to be able to use a command switch to force a check-in from a client machine. Something like %INSTALLDIR%\AMPAgent.exe /checkin. This would be very handy for new machines trying to get updates and patches ASAP before being deployed to a new hire, for example.

Thank you for your input. We are investigating this and encourage others to vote for this feature/functionality if they think it would be useful

I run "runkbot -s 4 0"
But somewhere in the lines I get
...KACE\kbots_cache\0-4.xml:1: parser error : Document is empty
Help will be appreciated. -

I "developped" a little tool in HTA (HTLM and VBscript) which display computer details (hostname, domain, current user, IP) and if Kace agent "status" : started and connected to appliance.
This tool also contains 2 buttons to :
- perform a "K1000 Check-in" (in fact runs "runkbot -s 4 0")
- "Check for pending Installs" (in fact runs "runkbot -s 3 0" and "runkbot -s 6 0")
In addition, this tools is a little bit customizable (by adjusting values in a INI file) :
-You can add your company logo
-You can adjust the tool title
-Display an "external link" button with you custom label and custom URL (ie. : a button to redirect users to your Intranet or your Service Desk portal). If you're interested to get this free tool, get in contact with me I will send you the msi by mail

Command: "C:\Program Files\Dell\Kace\runkbot 4 0". We use it all the time. Note: this inventories the machine and sends it the server to be placed in queue - if your server is busy with 1000s of other tasks it could take several minutes for the update to appear on your K1000.
Note: for 64bit it's C:\Program Files (x86)\.... -
