Allow Managed Installs to finish running when a Network connection drops
We have found an issue with Managed Installs where if the network connection drops for any reason in the middle of executing a Managed install and the kace agent can't talk to the SMA server, the Kace agent will forcefully kill the running install process.
This has caused a number of our Managed installs to half install causing software to install improperly and fail to run. In some extreme cases this may have caused the OS to become corrupted on the computer forcing us to fully rebuild the computer.
Some of our software installs like network drivers and VPN does cause the system to disconnect the network momentarily while the install is occurring but we do have other occurrences that the network could drop while a Managed install is occurring for any number of reasons. Fiber lines being cut, walking to far away from a WAP, and unstable network connections with users connecting over the VPN from home etc. So we see some installs randomly fail.
We have also seen that some installers, for instance Citrix Receiver, will drop the network connection for a brief moment while it installs. Most of the time 80-90% the install is fine but the other 10-20% the install will fail on a computer. It seems that if the brief network disconnect happens while the Kace agent heart beat detects that it can’t reach the server it will forcefully stop the install causing the software to be half installed and not work properly.
So with this I really need the product enhanced to be able to handle network disconnects while in the middle of installing software to allow the install to finish whether or not a network connection drops in the middle of executing the install.
