monitoring workstation
Workstation monitoring of event logs. seems silly that you can only monitor a server at this point. I would like to see hard drive failures before they happen on workstations. flags such as ntfs errors or bad blocks will show up in event logs while the drive is still recoverable in most cases.

We have had relatively low demand for this, but we are keeping an eye out for it and encourage others to vote if they would be interested in purchasing it.

Has there been any movement on this? I would really like to be able to monitor our workstation so that I can get alerts on components that may be failing, along with other things.

We need the ability to take a critical event and generate a ticket. Perhaps on keyword like Bad Block, Overheating, etc.

So one machine is flagging all of these disk messages, but I don't know about them because the Microsoft event monitoring does not apply to workstations. Would have liked to have an alert setup and replaced the disk early.

Since Windows "server" monitoring is based on scraping of the builtin Windows logs, it makes little sense that your customers are blocked from that same functionality on Windows "workstation" OSes that are based on the same kernels and data structure. I'm not seeing the same distinction with Linux or MAC - what gives?

The K1000 is a patching tool that is used to patch systems and keep them updated. The tool also provides extensive inventory capabilities that ties into a service desk system. The Service Desk System needs some more power to make this a great product. Allowing the Help Desk the ability to see problems and be proactive is a great tool to include. I support the Monitoring of Workstations so that when problems occur, that we as technical folks can be notified.

We have "servers" that have to be on non-server Windows Oses due to support requirements from some of our vendors. We would like the monitoring aspect to extend to these other Oses too so that we can monitor these "servers."
