How can we improve the SMA?

  1. SNMP Monitoring

    Would be very nice if the K1000 series would support SNMP monitoring and eliminate the need to also run IT Assistant - a one-stop shop with regards to determining the health of all systems on the network would be a fantastic improvement.

    The K1000 v6.3 introduced server monitoring as well as the ability to collect SNMP data in the form of custom inventory values. In v6.4 we introduced the ability to create custom asset sub-types (like printers or projectors) to which SNMP data can be collected to named fields.

    In a future release we intend to provide an SNMP trap monitor capability as well.

  2. Server system event log browsing and alerts

    Need the ability to browse the SEL on Dell servers and receive a notification on hardware failure.

    This was completed in K1000 v6.3 which was released a view weeks ago.
