Uninstall software directly from inventory list
Ability to mark unwanted software titles in the Inventory Software listing and having the following options in the Choose Action dropdown:
• uninstall from all computers
• uninstall from selected computers
It would be significantly easier to get rid of unwanted software instead of creating a new uninstall script for each software title and different versions of it in the worst case.943 votesThis was released with v13.0: Simplified Software Uninstallation: You can now quickly either add or remove a Software Catalog item from a Managed Installation using the Software Catalog Detail page.

Ability to change Inventory/Software default from "Windows" to "All Software" or "Mac"
I'd like to change the default filter in the Inventory / Software tab to "All Software" or "Mac" rather than having to modify the drop down EVERY time I go into the tab.
15 votesIn 6.0, we have removed the Windows filter and defaulted to All. In 6.1, we will look at persisting the selected filter so that it will remain as you navigate away and return.

Add "disallow software" flag to "software detail" page
There is no easy path from the "software detail" page to the "disallow software" list. The “software detail" page does not list the executable name, so you must first manually resolve the executable name of the software in question, usually by searching the remote directory of one of the computer it is installed on. Once the EXE name is determined, it can be added to the "disallow software" list. I suggest the KBox can be modified to 1) Show the EXE's name and 2) Flag the software for addition to the "disallowed software" list.

Attach PDF files to License Records
From within each License Asset field, we need to be able to attach the license details as either a PDF or Word document.
5 votesThis request exists in the existing shipped product. By editing the asset type, you can add in a Asset Field of “Attachment”, allowing you to now associate files with the license record.

Manage Licenses for Software Suites
Please improve Lincense Compliance Control considering Software Suites X Retail Versions on MAC OS.
Kace mixes up Adobe Photoshop bought in retail with Adobe Photoshop that are part of the Adobe Web Premium Suite. I can never have my counting right with Adobe Softwares. If I install the web premium suite on a Mac OS, the counting for my photoshops retail appear to be out of compliance.
That also happens with all the other products on the Adobe Suite for MAC.

Metering
Metering should display same software, different versions (Office 2003,2007, 2010). We are an 2003 shop today, we have purchased 2007 and now we must purchase 2010 when we need licenses. Each software uses same process name ie Winword, Excel. Need to differentiate
3 votesThe 5.5 release, GA earlier this month, will provide this level of discovery and tracking.

Cleaner software inventory list
The software inventory list would be much more manageable if it listed the software once, and then showed the different versions installed. As opposed to the current list where we see 40 different adobe flash 12.0.xx versions.
3 votesIn 5.5, we introduced the software catalog. Now, versions are rolled up to the product (you can still see the minor versions when viewing the product’s detail).

Build Software Asset List by Inventory
It would be helpful to be able to build a software asset list by inventorying the software currently installed throughout the organization. Then you could go back and input license info which would make the software metering a much easier setup.
2 votesWe approached this a bit differently in 5.5. In 5.5, all minor versions of an application are rolled up to the major (e.g.: Acrobat 9.2 and 9.3 are accounted for at Acrobat 9 in the Software Catalog). You can now simply decide which products have been discovered (or not yet discovered, for that matter) and associate your licenses without having to group applications.

Create a new software catalog option
It would be great to have an option to customize or add a software catalog. Some proprietary software or non-exe applications are not found in Software Catalog. Software metering can not be run without the catalog. It will be great if the software catalog can be created manually just by specifying a executable file name.
1 voteKevin, this is possible today. Navigate to the Uncataloged page, identify the executable you want to add locally to the catalog, and then enable metering for that application.
Regarding non-executable files – no plans to add this functionality in the future.
