K1000 8.0 themes
The 8.0 version theme is very bright and hurts the eyes. I think it would be good to allow several themes, especially to allow a company to theme the site to be how they would like it.

User Portal - Customized Background Color

Allow users to download on any computer regardless of assignment (v7.0.121306)
In versions 6.4 and older users were able to download software from the User Portal on any computer. In version 7.0 KACE now only allows users to download software to computers that are assigned to them.
This is extremely inconvenient for shared computers. In conference rooms, users aren't able to download software for trainings until the computer checks-in, which for our environment is 2 hours, and by then the meeting is done. This also affects computers used by multiple users in shifts. If our devs put out a new version of software between shifts, the second shift users aren't able…

We are trying to work through the suggestions, and are starting to reach out to review findings before updating status. You are correct, this should have been changed to complete with the 7.1 release. -

Allow the Layout Ticket Fields to be moved above the Fixed Ticket Fields, in the new 6.3 release the addition of the Fixed Ticket Fields convention puts the Comments at the top of the form. The whole idea of the users choosing a Category and Sub Category to succinctly identify their problem quickly is negated by putting the Comments box ahead. I understand development's idea of grouping blocks of info together, but at least let the customer decide if that block should be at the top of the ticket. Thank goodness we haven't gone live yet... had we done so…
40 votesIn version 6.4, the Comments field (along with attachments) is now displayed at the bottom of the New Ticket form layout by default. In a future release, we are planning to provide more flexibility in customizing the layout of the new ticket form for each queue.

Check client IP address when agent checks in.
We have quite a few traveling salesmen that are unable to get software from the software library. The problem is the IP address is incorrect on the K1000 we have to manually "Force Update" for this to be corrected. What I would like to see is if when the KACE agent checks in to the K1000 it would check the IP address that the K1000 has stored and if it is different from the new address up the K1000 with the new IP address. This would actually solve several issues with getting to offsite clients through the K1000.

Allow configuring default page on user portal at login time
Since Single Sign-On implementation users are nearly guaranteed to never see the information that we present to them on the welcome page.
Single Sign-On takes users directly to the ticket list. They will only see welcome.php if they click on it themselves after logging in, if they manually log out, or if Single Sign-On is disabled (or broken).

Improve the look of the User Console
The user console is considered to be very ugly by everyone above me. They want to push it out to our users but our concerned by the awful appearance of it. Some extra branding capabilities along with the possibility of changing background/sidebar colors would go a long way. The also want to be able to rename "User Console" to something else.

Can we remove the Welcome Tab from the end-user view? It doesn’t seem to have a purpose and causes confusion.

Add Notes column to Software Library list
Please add a Notes column in the list so that there can be an explanation of the various Installs, Downloads, and Scripts in the list view. This is especially important for multiple installs of the same program.

An external portal of the K1000 for mobile devices not on the same network
Have the Kace appliance use an external portal of the K1000 for mobile devices not on the same network. This would allow me to use my iPhone, iPad, Android devices to look at my tickets and inventory while not on the corporate network.

Save - End User View
When the end user clicks on “Save” it does not remove them from the ticket and no notification is sent until they leave the ticket. Can you change the functionality to have it Save and put them back in the Queue like “Save & List” does for the administration side?
2 votesWe have standardized on “Save” and “Apply Changes” terminology. “Apply Changes” saves the ticket and keeps the user on the ticket page, “Save” will return them to the Ticket List.
