Support VMXNET3 for K1000
Using a VMXNET3 Adapter for K1000 could substantially improve the network performance on a VMWARE ESX Infrastructure. Currently K1000 only Supports E1000 Adapters.

add windows 10 support on k1000 prior to the end of windows 1/yr free upgrade
Microsoft has announced that unless you are using an enterprise edition of windows 7, you may upgrade to windows 10 for free as long as you do it withing the first 1 year following windows 10's release. We plan to upgrade during this year because it will save our company a great amount of money since we all have individual licensing. I would like to see kace support this prior to the end of this first year, or else we will not be able to upgrade our pc's due to our companies compliance requirements.
62 votesWindows 10 is currently supported by the K1000 however there are a few known issues (most notably lack of support for patching Win 10 systems) which is detailed here – https://support.software.dell.com/kb/156967.
We are planning a separate Windows 10 focused service pack for later this year to address these known issues.

Larger than 250GB storage on VK1000 server
The VK1000 server software currently only supports 250GB, based on the original limitation of the K1000 hardware. For flexibility, it would be much better if the VK1000 could support much larger storage.

Allow SSH Login + more user rights
Allow SSH Login, since sshd is already installed. ^^
Logging in locally with netdiag or konfig user with absurdly restricted rights is a PITA when trying to solve network or other issues. There is no telnet, no traceroute, no man's to the commands allowed.
17 votesIn 6.3, four new tools have been added to netdiag: Traceroute, Curl test, NSLookup, and NTPDate. We will also add more tools in the subsequent releases in order to help.

Consistency and sharing of labels between K1000 and K2000
When I define labels in the K1000 I want to be able to utilize those same labels in the K2000. When I look at a machine on K2000 it should be able to show the labels from the K1000 that are associated with that machine too.

Support for FreeBSD 7.0 ended in 2009.
Support for FreeBSD 7.0 ended in 2009. An updated OS preferably with digital comms signing. Windows XP has this capability and we are required to enable this feature which currently renders Kace non-operational.
12 votesFreeBSD has been upgraded to 10.1 in our 6.4 release

Disk space information about what is using available space on the K1000 drive(s)
With multiple Organizations(or even with a single Organization with multiple Manage Installs or other uploaded packages) on a single K1000, it is dificult to determine what is using space on the K1000 drive. The only information currently provided is free space in the disk status log, or the size of all patch files in the System>Settings>Control Panel>Patch Settings screen.
9 votesJared, in 6.0 we added a dashboard widget that shows the disk capacity and what is being used. We’ll continue to improve this with some additional granular classifications.

Allow DHCP ip address for K1000
The K1000 requires a static IP address. It would be nice to be able to configure the K1000 with DHCP so we could configure a dynamic IP address for the K1000.
7 votesIn 6.2, we added the ability to use DHCP with your K1000

Why isn't there a link to this website on the K1000 appliance?
After all KACE, you are paying for this kace.uservoice.com name.
I didn't know about this place until a KACE service tech pointed me here. This should be a link under settings/support.3 votesThe 5.5 release includes a link to UserVoice

Support Multiple companies
The K1000 is very useful for managing computers. I support a number of smaller companies who would not be able to afford their own K1000. However, I can imagine a scenario where I purchase a K1000 and host it at a central location and use that K1000 to manage the computers for each of these companies.
I would be quite happy to do this with the current feature set of the system, but it is my understanding that the current Terms of Use restricts this activity.
I would like to be allowed to use the K1000 in this scenario.
3 votesThis restriction has been removed from the KACE EULA. KACE now has a MSP program available as well.

Add curl testing option in Troubleshooting dropdown
Adding a curl testing option in Troubleshooting would help us isolate what is blocking a download of a patch.
2 votesVersion 6.3 will include a Curl test in netdiag.

Deploy K1200s with an iDRAC!
When the K1200 (or K2200) becomes unresponsive and requires power-cycling, this should be performed via an integrated Dell Remote Access Card (iDRAC). Medium and large enterprises do not traditionally co-locate servers with the administrators. In such situations, touch labor at a particular site must be employed to "push the button."
2 votesiDRAC is planned to be included on the new 12G appliances (which will begin shipping later this year).
iDRAC is now a standard peripheral on all new K1000 appliances

Add more fields to "Create Smart Label"
Currently, you can only define 4 criteria for either Patch Listing "Create Smart Label" or looking under Inventory "Create Smart Label".
I would like the ability to have available or to click to add additional criteria fields. This ability is CRITICAL in being able to properly define patches.

Limit log file access
Anyone that can access the K1000 network can review the log files via standard URL http://kace/logs/kbox_log
This should be a security concern.2 votes
