  1. Allow a user to patch on demand

    It would be great if end users could initiate patching. Right now they can OK or Snooze a patching message, but are not notified again until the snooze interval is up. Right now we have that set at 60 minutes. But if a user is heading to a meeting, it would be great to allow them to begin patching when they leave their desk.

  2. Uninstall software directly from inventory list

    Ability to mark unwanted software titles in the Inventory Software listing and having the following options in the Choose Action dropdown:
    • uninstall from all computers
    • uninstall from selected computers
    It would be significantly easier to get rid of unwanted software instead of creating a new uninstall script for each software title and different versions of it in the worst case.

    Our thoughts on this feature are evolving. The ability to construct a floor map, plot different objects (people, printers, fire extinguisher, etc) and have links back into the asset management module are all concepts we are starting to think through. This will be a longer term deliverable but please continue providing your feedback.

  4. Progress bar on patch deployment + Summary of patching

    This idea is already published. It is marked as 'Completed', but there is still no progress bar, so I decided to create a new idea, because I don't know another way to respond to the status, so it will be recognized by Kace.

    I would like to see a progress bar on the client while patching for the current patching job.

    I think it would be enough for example if there are 10 patches to deploy, 6 are already finished, the progress bar would show 60% finished.

    Maybe it is also a good idea to see a short summary which…

    Having the ability to use labels to exclude from, as well as, include systems in an MI etc. would be helpful.

    Over the coming releases, we will be revamping our targeting and scheduling pages. This a great example of where we will extend your ability to control what you are targeting and when it should be delivered.

  6. Remote wipe functionality for lost or stolen machines.

    If a machine is reported lost or stolen, KBox should be able to implement a secure wipe function.

    The KACE Cloud MDM product added the ability to “Factory Reset” Mac (only) devices in August, 2019. We will continue to work towards this for Windows in 2020. KACE Cloud MDM is seamlessly integrated with KACE SMA.

  7. Asset - Ability to do bulk edits

    From within the Asset tab be able to select multiple assets and then assign a value such as "Move all my assets into the location X"

  8. Suspend BitLocker as part of the Patch Detect & Deploy Jobs

    K1000 should (through inventory detection) be able to determine that the machine has BitLocker enabled and during a patch deployment of that machine, there should be an option to suspend BitLocker (manage-bde –protectors –disable c:) before the reboot so the patch job does not get stuck at waiting for a user to enter the BitLocker PIN. If multiple reboots are required the K1000 can continue to disable BitLocker in a Detect & Deploy job until all patches have been installed. After which BitLocker can be resumed. This would be a HUGE help if it can be added to the product.…

  9. Add a "take this ticket" button

    I would love an option, in the help desk queue, to take a ticket without having to check the box then going to "choose action" -> "reasign to" -> and then choosing myself. A "take this ticket" button beside unassigned tickets would be wonderful.

  10. Kagent: Show icon on client machine (with info)

    It would be great to have an option to show the kagent icon on the system tray on client machines (with an indicator show connected/disconnected).

    If the user double clicks on it, it should show information about what managed job is scheduled and for when and what jobs were sent to it (mini history).

    This would help local techs to provide better end user management/troubleshooting.

    It wouldn't hurt to also provide (when double clicked on the icon) a window that shows a list of authorized apps (software library) that can be installed by the end user.

  11. Label awareness: software is installed when placed into a label - uninstalls when removed from label

    Similar to group policy software installs via active directory, it would be ideal to have labels react likewise. When a computer is placed into a label, it would install whatever software or managed installs assigned to the label - when the computer is removed from the label, the software would uninstall at next check-in instead of remaining on the pc, leaving unnecessary / not utilized software across the inventory.

    This is a great idea. We will need to first blend the software and managed install functions into the software catalog in order to do this. This is something that will take a while to implement, but certainly has our interest.

  12. Scripting in KBOX

    Would like to be able to create a group for scripts. Currently have 200 scripts in KBOX and growing daily. For example i would like to be able to create a Group called printers and have all my printer scripts in that group. This way i am not scrolling through 200+ scripts to find what i need.

  13. Better support for Category::Subcategories in Helpdesk

    Currently setting up categories and subcategories for helpdesk is painful, as it requires manual ordering and reordering of entries, high redundancy in entries, and is not supported under custom fields. It would be great to see UI improvements to make this task more streamlined.

  14. There needs to be Kace "Certification" available personnell for personnel operating Kace Solutions. A Kace Certified Administrator (KCA)

    Employers like certifications. When you are looking to hire a new employee or when you are evaluating the work of a current employee, their industry certifications are a major factor. Training (like at the Kace Konference) could be the basis for these certifications, with testing at course end to verifiy learning. Employers and Employees would both benefit, as well as would Kace, as certified personnell are some of the best testimonials/advertisements for products and solutions.

  15. Add a Ninite-like library of commonly used software

    Ninite provides a consistent interface for installing some of our most commonly used free software. Software like Firefox, Flash, Java, etc. can be installed with the same consistent switches every time, and Ninite takes care of making sure it has the most up-to-date version. That way, instead of having to prepare fresh Java packages every few days we could simply choose to keep that software up to date.

    This kind of functionality would go a long way toward making KACE easy to get up and running to manage essential software.

    Allow the customer to get change Background color for UserPortal Welcome Screen and Admin Welcome Screen.

  18. recurring tickets or tasks like outlook tasks

    good day,
    I was wondering if there is a way to create recurring tasks in K1000 e.g. dusting off shipping PC's. or remind head of departments to bring their laptops for quarterly check.
