  1. Uninstall software directly from inventory list

Ability to mark unwanted software titles in the Inventory Software listing and having the following options in the Choose Action dropdown:
    • uninstall from all computers
    • uninstall from selected computers
It would be significantly easier to get rid of unwanted software instead of creating a new uninstall script for each software title and different versions of it in the worst case.

  2. Label awareness: software is installed when placed into a label - uninstalls when removed from label

Similar to group policy software installs via active directory, it would be ideal to have labels react likewise. When a computer is placed into a label, it would install whatever software or managed installs assigned to the label - when the computer is removed from the label, the software would uninstall at next check-in instead of remaining on the pc, leaving unnecessary / not utilized software across the inventory.

This is a great idea. We will need to first blend the software and managed install functions into the software catalog in order to do this. This is something that will take a while to implement, but certainly has our interest.

  3. Software inventory aging

I would like to see an aging process for removal of software that is no longer installed but resides in the software inventory. It wouuld be nice to include an audit process where software is flagged after 90 days of a zero install count to add to a smart label then report before removal from the table.

  4. Concurrent License Tracking

We would like to be able to do concurrent license tracking. Right now we only know what machines are using a license and for how long. That doesn't tell me how many people were using the software at a specific time. Even something as simple as a resettable counter for max number of simultaneous uses would be sufficient.

  5. Allow categorization of software library titles

For organizations that only allow users to install software from the KACE software library, there should be a way to categorize software into folders or something similar. This would allow the software library to stay organized and reduce clutter for end users to look through when trying to install software on their PC.

  6. License Key Scanning

Add the ability to scan computer registries for installed software license keys, along the lines of Belarc Advisor or RecoverKeys.

  7. Smart Labels for the Software Catalog, with metering for software in those labels

I would like to have the ability to create Smart Labels in the Software Catalog.

For example, I would like to meter usage of Microsoft Visio. I can go into the Software Catalog, check the box for each Visio entry, go to Choose Action > Enable Metering. When another version is installed in our environment, I have to go back and enable metering for that one, too.

It would be much easier if I could have a label that looked for software that started with Visio, and had metering enabled.

This would also catch non-standard versions of software that were…

  8. Show file path in the Software Catalog

Some items in the Software Catalog are just executable files and are not actually installed. This makes finding and removing them difficult. Firefox and Chrome are examples of this because they can be downloaded and run from within a user's profile. Showing the file path in the Software Catalog Detail or the Device Detail would be a big help in cleaning up old or unwanted applications.

  9. Ability to control (filter) what shows in the license compliance view

There are many software titles that are showing up in our license compliance view that are not licensable for our environment. This adds a lot of noise and makes regular reviews of compliance more difficult than it has to be. We would like the ability to control what is shown in the license compliance view. Add a switch in the most appropriate place that asks "include in license compliance view (Y/N)?" Make the default yes but let the customer switch that to no if the are certain a product is not a licensed product in their environment. environment.

  10. Add Filter for Software Catalog to filter out Windows Installation folders

We find many built in Windows features (like games) that are not installed, but KACE K1000 thinks they are because the installation source files are saved and locked under a Windows Folder. We cannot delete these files, the games are not installed, but the K1000 thinks they are. Bad for audits

  11. Combine individual listings of the same software (and version) from uncataloged software

In the uncataloged software list, the same software with the same version is listed multiple times. It would be nice to have it listed once so we can add it to the catalog once if needed.

  12. Allow decimal in "Unit Cost" of license asset

I am not sure why the "Unit Cost" field of the licence asset will only accept integers. It seems like it would be a very trivial thing to allow float or decimal types for that field. We have many licenses which do not fall under the integer range.

  13. Inventory Browser Plug-Ins on Mac Computers

Please add to the inventory of software for Mac computers the folder /Library/Internet Plug-Ins. Currently on Windows machines I can see in inventory what version of the Flash player plug-in is installed, but I cannot do this for Macs.

  14. Enable metering for AutoCAD and Revit products

Currently, software metering does not collect data on AutoCAD products (software that runs acad.exe) or Revit products (software that runs revit.exe).

Other Autodesk software, including AutoCAD LT (acadlt.exe) can be metered.

As I understand it, and correct me if I'm wrong, the Software Catalog is based on the old ASAP Software's eSmart program, specifically, the software identification, catalog, and metering. Back when we were customers of eSmart, AutoCAD software was initially not metered, but we made a request to have it metered, and their software engineers were able to make that happen. eSmart's metering tracked the usage of vanilla acad.exe…

  15. Customize License Compliance on Dashboard

I like being able to see license compliance on th dashboard. But, it seems Kace has a mind of it's own when it comes to what data to show.

I would like to see a way to customize which licenses will display on the dashboard.

  16. Please make the license key field in the License Asset Type longer than 256 bytes

The current license field is type Text, so it is limited to 256 characters. I have longer keys and would like to have it be a field of type Notes.

  17. On Kbox 1000 how do we limit a software based on number of license it has.

On Kbox 1000 how do we limit a software based on number of license it has. For example, if we have only 500 Adobe Acrobat License how do we stop installation after 500th license has been install? I guess, I am looking for a license counter that would automatically stop the install.

  18. Fix inequality symbols and statements for software version numbers with periods.

I would like inequality symbols and statements to work correctly and consistently for numbers with periods, such as "10.1.102.64" in Smart Labels, Advanced Search and in Scripts for plist number comparisons & registry value comparisons.

  19. Currently Licenses can be "Approved for Computer." I'd like to see "Disapproved for computer."

Currently Licenses can be "Approved for Computer." I'd also like to see "Disapproved for computer." When dealing with multiple license agreements for the same software license, it may be easier to disallow a few computers than to enter MANY for allowed.

  20. Application control is great but need more granularity

I would like to be able to define lists of software that must be blocked , then tie these lists to specific labels which can then be applied as required. For example we may want to block teamviewer on all devices except for Kiosks.

Due to our organisation structure we cannot split out devices based on type.
