  1. splash screen

    Hi,

I would like to have the opportunity to turn the splash screen on or off in a more granular maner.

Example : A script is being executed a the startup. I want to disable the splash screen for this specific script and let enabled for others tasks.

    Thank you

  2. Import computer names from a text file or excel sheet in the script

When i am installing a script, i would like to have a option to download the list of computer from the text file. I have been using this feature in PDQ Deploy and it is very useful.

  3. Use the original editor for smart labels to edit them

We have recently taken over our spain office, and as such we want to avoid deploying software and patches in english to their machines, the machines in inventory have a specific IP ragne, so we want to edit our smart labels to exclude that IP range, this would be a whole lot simpler if we could just edit the label using the same "create smart label" fucntion used to create it, but in order to do this we need to add SQL statements to the label. my suggestion is to have a "edit label in original editor" and this takes…

  4. Permissions to run selected scripts

Option to set permissions to limit scripts to one or more roles.

E.g. limit 1 line support to be allowed to run a few scripts, and not all available scripts.

  5. Rearrange tasks in scripting

It would be nice to be able to rearrange tasks in a script. For instance, if a script evolves over time to remove newer programs, it would be nice to add extra tasks and then move them up to the location where they would need to be.

  8. Run a script from the Device / Inventory page

I often have to run a script on a group on a device that I am currently reviewing in either:

    --The Device screen
--The summary screen filtered by label
    --In my Advanced Search window

This would be extremely useful to be able to either have an option to run the script from the device window or from the summary list by selecting a list of devices.

  9. Supress Command Prompt window option

It would nice to have an option to suppress a command prompt window when run scripts on the clients. When scripts are run on the clients from Dell Kace, Command Prompt windows pops up and stays until the scripts finish execution.

  10. Have RunKbot Return appropriate errorcodes

When running a script via runkbot, return an error code based on how the script finished, e.g. success, fail, remediation success, remediation fail. Currently errorcode 0 (success) is always returned when running a script

  11. OK/Snooze/Cancel in Script message windows

One of the options in Scripts is to Create a Message Window. This will pop up a KACE alert window with your text and an OK button and will stay on screen until OK is pressed, or the timeout is reached. However, the script will proceed regardless of the state of the Message Window. Please add the ability to choose from
    OK
    OK/Snooze
    OK/Snooze/Cancel
as user options for a Message Window, and have the script wait for user input on the Message Window before continuing. This would give Scripting's Message Windows the same features as alerts in Managed Installs and…

  12. Retain scripting logs data for 7-30 days

Currently the logs clear everyday. I'd like to be able to look back at the logs in the days and weeks after the scripts have been run.

  13. Run a script once on a client. If successful the script should not run a second time on the client.

Run a script once on a client. When the script successfully completed, set a checkbox in the computer inventory, so it does not run a second time on the client.

  14. Script Deployment: multiple label selection change to AND rather than OR

When selecting labels for "Limit Deployment to Selected Labels" it would be helpful to be able to select whether or not the deployment should go to any machine with any of the labels, or only machines that have all the labels. The only way around this right now is to create labels based on labels, which is messy since we currently don't have the rights to remove labels.

  15. duplicate script

Currently, when you click Duplicate within a script, the user is sent back to the list of Scripts. It would be nice if you can go right into the Duplicated script and continue editing the script. This behavior exists when a user Duplicates a report.

  16. Change the behavior of cancel in run now

The problem with the cancel option in run now for scripts is the cancel button runs the script, just without any saved changes. This is not what cancel means.

    Open a script:
    Change target machine

    Click Run Now.

You receive a pop up window that says: "There are unsaved changes to this
page; OK to Save before running, Cancel to Run Now without saving."

This can lead to a huge headache, for example.

There are three computers, A, B and C.

Last time I ran the script, I targeted machine A.

Now I want to target machine C, however I…

  17. Wait for user interaction of message before proceeding

It would be very useful if it was possible to have a message box appear as part of a script that would not allow the script to proceed until the user acknowledges the message.

For example, a process that is currently running needs to be closed to proceed with the script. At present if a message box is displayed the script will display the message and then continue without the need for the user to acknowledge/interact with the message. This could well cause loss of work which could be avoided if the message that advises the user to save work…

  18. Execute scripts in groups of targets at a time

I have a script to deploy software using a smart label which contains several hundred targets. I would like to run this script one time but have the option of executing the task in groups of n targets at a time to avoid overwhelming our network with the payload if it were to execute concurrently.

  20. Machine count added to the run now ok message dialog box

When running a script using the run now button on pop up message that says are you sure you want to run this script now could you maybe display the total number of machines that are about to get the script run against it. I have to assume other users have accidentally left a label attached to an old script and had to perform some clean up after it was to late.
