  1. Allow a user to patch on demand

It would be great if end users could initiate patching. Right now they can OK or Snooze a patching message, but are not notified again until the snooze interval is up. Right now we have that set at 60 minutes. But if a user is heading to a meeting, it would be great to allow them to begin patching when they leave their desk.

  2. Fix the smart label wizard in Dell Updates so that it doesn't reset the criteria fields after each test/create.

Currently, whenever you Test or Create a smart label of Dell Updates, it resets the non-Catalog fields of the wizard. If you're not paying attention, you could test a label, get the correct output and then create it incorrectly due to these fields being reset to default.

  3. The patch progress window doesn't always close

KACE Patching, "Patching is in progress. This window will close automatically upon completion. Please wait..." Nice feature, but frequently becomes a permanent desktop fixture. After the patch successfully installs, this window never goes away. Every time I've seen it, it's been with Adobe Flash Player updates, but that could be coincidence since they happen so frequently.

  4. Patch Stats for Inventory

It would be nice to be able to see the total # of patches that are in a failed state and those in a not ptached state for each machine listed in the inventory view.

  5. Patch Stat Reset

Create a reset stats button that will recalculate all patch stats on the main Patch screen and the Patch List Screen. These stats occasionally get out of synch with the actual machines that need to be patched or that have failed to patch.

  6. Support for Slovak language in Patch Management

K1000 currently does not support Slovak language versions of Windows, therefore patching is not possible. It would be nice to have this feature.

  7. Patch Reboot/Non Reboot Options

    Patch Reboot/Non Reboot Options
We have a large variety of labels, some which include workstations and servers together. If we were to separate them, the amount of labels would get out of hand.
Under "Patch Schedule > "Reboot Options" I would like to have a way to Prompt or Force Reboot option, unless the OS was "x". If the OS is "x" (any selected system), I can chose a separate option, such as "No Reboot".

This is under consideration but not planned for the next release. Please continue voting if you’d like to see this feature prioritized for a future release.

  9. Smart Label patches on type/category

Let it be possible to also create patch lables on the criteria WHICH category it belongs to.
Example: Smart Label which only contains Service Packs for Windows 7.
MS is using this "form" in their WSUS solution. See screenshot.

  10. Allow the organization administrator to add and remove the patch update source

Allow the organization administrator to add and remove the patch update source. The admin should be able to change the patch source to internal or other update sources instead of using Lumention or Windows Update.

  11. Historical Patching Reporting by date

Due to auditing, we need to be able to pull up reports on historical patch deployments we have done showing what machines, what date, and what patches were applied to each machine. This report needs to be friendly enough to hand to auditors.

We will be unable to use the Kbox for patching until this feature amongst others gets implemented.

  12. Smart Label Reporting for Missing Patches

We patch our Servers in Groups of 10 or 20 for easier maintenance and testing. However, we do not automatically deploy these patches to the servers as we want to review each patch and verify that it will not impact any configurations. Right now, once the scheduled patch detection has completed, we have to go through each individual server from the inventory to see what patches are available or run a massive report. This is very time consuming and not very user friendly. I would like to see if there was a way, once the patch detection has completed, an…

  13. Improve the Patching System

I understand the importance of having the patching system not distribute patches with invalid signatures, but I'd like an option to manually disable patches so that we can run updates against our systems even if there are one or more patches with bad signatures.

  14. Snapshot a Hyper-V Machine before Patching

Before Patching a Hyper-V Machine wouldn't it be awesome if the K1000 could have the perform a snapshot first, so if it fails you could just revert in a matter of a few minutes.

  15. Shutdown machine after scheduled patches complete.

It would be very beneficial to have a button within each patch schedule to allow shutting down the machine after patching has happened.

For us, our maintenance department pushes power management and powering off machines, and we are finally getting to a point to be able to do patching overnight, but would like to meet them half way by shutting down the workstations after they're done patching. I am aware we can create a separate script to initiate a shutdown, but this would be a guessing game regarding when the whole group machines have actually finished patching.

  16. Change patch/distribution download location on KACE Agent

Currently the KACE Agent downloads patches and files to the C drive on machines. This can cause the C drive to fill up if it is a small partition.

  17. Patch Labels

Add an additional option or change the smart label searches to include ONLY those patches it detects from the system. When I create a smart label for a specific OS and not to include superseded, it displays hundreds of patches most of which are not installed on my systems. It would increase admin efficiency if we don't have to invalidate each patch that doesn't matter.

  18. Deploy all patches default setting

If you reconfigure a detect patch schedule to deploy, it defaults to all patches
It could make for a very bad day

  19. Ability to stop running patches with one click

It would be nice to be able to click a “stop” button on the KBOX to stop a currently running patch schedule
