This would be nice, We currently have a good sysem in place that maps our corporate directory (web based) to a pdf with seat numbers. It links to the floor map (pdf), searches and highlights the location based on the hyperlink. It's pretty awesome and quite useful. Having this feature built-in to Kace would be nice.

Any update on this? I have been using Visio and Excel to track floor plans for a while now and I would love to have an integration with our Inventory system. Would save me time from updating two different sources.

This would also be great if you could put users on the map as well, or if the map also showed you the user's name next to the physical asset. So if I had an employee called John Doe tied to a computer XYZ, There would be a picture of a computer with the computer name XYX and maybe you could tie a photo to a user. That way you know the name of there user whose computer you're going to with a picture of them for easy reference.

This would be a great feature for our TSC so that they can see what technology is in the classroom when asked without having to physically go to the room and look or look at a static excel spread sheet that is not very current.

Yes, it would be a great feature. I have been looking to buy a product to do this for me but would be nice if the KBOX could do it.

Floor map should allow Zone Smart tags. Zones to help search assets by location. i.e. Asset Type, Building, Floor, Wing, Room#... or help with computer naming, Wake on LAN, or software deployment,
Import a Map. Overlay all needed zones. Drag and drop on all assets. Tags automatically get assigned to assets based on location. All new hardware shows up in the unassigned area waiting to be positioned on the maps.
Asset icons change based on type, Last checking date, other important statuses.
