PC Exception Lists for Patch deployment
I would like to see an Exception list option added to the Patch Management and the Managed Deploy in the K1000.
In our case, we have "General Build Groups for different sites that we manage. In these group there might be 150 - 200 computers. In the General Build we want to have all of them to be patched with latest version of Adobe Reader, Java, .Net. But lets say that out of the 150 - 200 PC's there are 5 that we don't want to update the Java because of a particular Application that requires a particular version of Java. Putting those 5 Devices in an Exception List, excluding them from updated patches would be a very simple way to keep them on the appropriate version.

I accomplished this through a combination of Smart Labels and Manual Labels. I created the following label groups:
DL-Exceptions-Smart: List of exceptions based on computers with a common naming convention.
DL-Exceptions-Manual: List of exceptions per system
I then created the following smart labels used for patching:
Logic example for these smart labels is as follows:
System Name > Begins With > LT - For laptops. (This could be replaced with Chassis Type > Equals > Laptop)
Label Names > does not contain > Exceptions
I then use these labels for patching which allows me to exclude systems and maintain them easily. The only caveat is that if you replace the system and change it's system name, it still stays in the DL-Exceptions-Manual list until you move it out and add the replacement system in.
Anyway, I hope this helps!
