Would be very nice if the K1000 series would support SNMP monitoring and eliminate the need to also run IT Assistant - a one-stop shop with regards to determining the health of all systems on the network would be a fantastic improvement.
The K1000 v6.3 introduced server monitoring as well as the ability to collect SNMP data in the form of custom inventory values. In v6.4 we introduced the ability to create custom asset sub-types (like printers or projectors) to which SNMP data can be collected to named fields.
In a future release we intend to provide an SNMP trap monitor capability as well.
I am not sure if this is where I would put it, and correct me if I am wrong; but I would like the SNMP monitoring for printers and other devices for the agentless side of things. anything from toner levels to lamp hours can be monitored via SNMP, but the fields to map to are not there

Thanks, Giles. We decided to go ahead and introduce the custom SNMP functionality in 6.3 without new & custom fields, i.e. enabling mapping to existing fields only, as an interum step rather than waiting. The new fields are the next step. Thanks for your patience - I hope you find it useful in the mean time.
I've start playing with snmp in the 6.3 release, and I hope we could soon create custom field names !
