Tracking api integration for ups/fedex/usps,etc.
Requesting an enhancement to the helpdesk that would enable technicians to enter the tracking# for recently processed shipments directly into a service ticket via new shipping field or comment. Ideal behavior of the feature would help end users and techs stay informed about tracking updates via a web-interface tracker and KACE posting comments to the ticket when updates to the shipment are detected – perhaps refresh of tracking updates only occur via api checks when the status of a ticket is set to “shipping” which may require a new ticket status setting. I believe all three major couriers in the USA support restful api for html/xml for tracking updates. Enhancement may require individual orgs to request their own API keys to connect to tracking services by couriers.
Considerations: May need to expand functionality to support tickets that may have multiple shipments/tracking numbers.
