  2. Agent Install arguments to provision into specific org

It would be useful for complicated Org setup and unreliable filters (currently an issue with the LDAP/AD query in the public release) to be able to specify the destination Org during the install with an argument. This would allow for overriding the filters when needed, and offer much more control to ensure devices get to the intended destination.

  3. Agent authentication

Agent needs authentication parameters. This will allow remote machines to securely check in without first VPN'ing into the network. If you open your KBox up to the Internet now to allow remote agents to check in then any machine with the Kbox agent can check in to your server - a major security breach. I want this to know the status of remote computers. I would not expect to push installs since a WAN link could not handle large files.

We encourage additional voting by those that would like to see it made a priority

  4. Fix Amp.conf File So It Doesn't Reconfigure

Our K1000 is not available when you are not connected to our network. So when laptops leave our network to do work at home the agent continues to try to check in. Over time, because the agent can't connect to the server, the amp.conf deletes out all the configuration data, and the machines stop checking in. We have over 200 machines that have this problem. We then have to track these all down and reinstall the agent. But since this continues to happen we are never able to really make much progress.

  5. Add Pre-Install and Post-Install Message to the Software Library Installs

Add Custom Pre-Install and Post-Install Message options for Software Library Installs. This is present for Managed installs. Why not in the Software Library?

  6. Prevent Users from disabling Kace Services

Prevent Users from disabling the Kace services running on the machine. All of our Users have Admin rights because they are developers. they all seem to think that Kace impacts their work when we have proven that it doesn't.

Policing this has become exhausting, time consuming and a waste of time.

The Kace agent service should be like the Symantec AV services, they can see the Services but grayed out so they cannot disable them.

The Option to just restart the service should be available in case the amp.conf file needs to be replaced for communication issues back to the…

  7. blacklisting metro apps

As of right now, K1 does not support blocking or metering of Metro style apps. I would like to request this be added since Windows 10 and Windows 8

  8. macOS Device Actions

With the introduction of the updated agent in version 9.0 that uses the agent to run device actions instead of the browser, it should now be possible to create device actions for macOS clients. Ideally this would be implemented in a way that would show device actions for macOS computers only on macOS devices, and Windows actions for those devices.

  9. configure Kace not to use the root of the C drive as a working area

Is it possible to configure Kace not to use the root of the C drive as a working area? It keeps adding and removing cab files there when it’s working, which is a pain when you have Explorer configured to expand the directory tree. It keeps appearing and disappearing from the tree. The name of the cab file causes it to appear at the top of the entries under the C drive, causing the entire tree to flicker and shuffle. This is both distracting and causes directories I’m trying to click to move around underneath the mouse. The path to…

  10. Ability to query filesize for a custom inventory rule.

Ability to create custom inventory rules on the K1000 box that query the size of a certain file (e.g. if it's greater than a certain size by using the 'FileInfoGreaterThan' function with a size attribute).

  11. KACE Agent for ARM CPU

We would need an agent for ARM CPU.
The current 6.4 agent only works on ia32 (x86) but many of our basic workstations run an ARM CPU
Inventory works with agentless but we need to run scripts on the devices like we do it on our ia32 machines

Thank you for your suggestion. This has been added to the feature request list. We encourage others to vote as we use this input for prioritizing our release plans.

  12. Possibility to manual upload agent bundle also under Appliance Update

Many customers have a hard time with manual updates.
The usage of the server upgrade kbin works fine but when they try to upload the agent kbin this fails.
So many SR are updated where support needs to point the customer to right location.
Even this is described in KB articles and the release notes this gives customers hard times.

It would be great if the upload would also work over the manual update field or lead the customer to the right page if an upload has been tried.

Thank you for your input. We are investigating this and encourage others to vote for this feature/functionality if they think it would be useful

  14. Customizable LM.Detection resource consumption

The KACE agent patch detection engine, under certain workflows, can be highly disruptive: pegging disk I/O, pegging CPU, RAM usage >1GB, and causing USB HID (keyboard) events to be dropped.
Currently the engine runs full bore, as fast as possible.
A beneficial feature would be customizable resource consumption for the detection engine to facilitate enhanced end-user experience for use cases when detection/deployment must occur during business hours.

  15. Asset Management of Devices Externally without opening Web Console

Would like to see the ability to open up Kace for Device management externally without opening the web console externally. Example: I want all our device agents to check in remotely from outside the organization but we are concern about opening up web console for management at this time. It is my understanding that there use to be a separate port for agents but this has all been moved to a single port (port 443) so there is no way now to separate the two functions.

  16. Agent Provisioning uses NTLMv2 to support Level 5 (NTLMv2 only Refuse LM & NTLM)

Presently the Agent Provisioning requires NTLM Level 0-4, if your environment uses Level-5 you cannot deploy the Agent via Agent Provisioning.

  17. Uninstaller should shut down Quest KACE Uninstaller should shut down Quest KACE Software Meter during uninstall

When metering is enabled, an attempt to uninstall the agent will fail because MobileAppinfo.log is locked by the Quest KACE Software Meter service. Shutting down that service allows the uninstall to complete successfully.

Now I understand Support maintains that its best practice to disable metering prior to uninstalling the agent, but that's not always practical when you're troubleshooting why an agent with an active heartbeat isn't running inventory. We've found that a quick uninstall and reinstall of the agent is usually all it takes to kick that process in the head.

Instead, it makes more sense for the uninstaller to…

  18. Better Mac OS X documentation for Kace Agent

I've found sadly very little documentation about using the Kace Agent on a Mac. I did find a list of all the runkbot commands for Windows and for a while presumed that this would be the same on a Mac. But I started to realize that this is not the case. Now, I've finally located support articles that show that runkbot 2 0 on a Mac runs inventory where the same command in windows is runkbot 4 0. But then what does 4 0 do on a Mac? And what about the rest of the commands such as 6 0?…

  20. Provide an option to only scan specific Drive Letters during Inventory Scan

Our Workstations have drive letters for students that don't need to be scanned. Also our Servers have data volumes that don't need to be scanned. An option to omit specific drive letters or drives from the inventory scan would be great.
