  1. End-user ability to minimize the patching box that comes up.

Currently, the user can drag the box off the screen to get rid of it, but it is still there if there are giving a presentation, for example. It should be fairly easy to make it so the end-user can minimize the box.

  2. Patching Status Dashboard Single Pane of Glass

Please create a patch management dashboard that would allow us to quickly view the patching status of all the machines. Such as so many machines are 100% patched. These machines have errors with patching. Compliance per patch. Patches detected but not downloaded. Machines pending reboot. Even a section for just for logged errors throughout the entire patching process. When we see machines with errors let us select them and try to force the patches at that time. I think we need more single panes of glass throughout the Kace appliance but patching is most crucial.

  3. Notification if patch subscription is expired

It would be nice if you could set KACE to alert you with an email or otherwise if your patch subscription expires for one reason or another so you can take action immediately.

  4. Historical Patching Reporting by date

Due to auditing, we need to be able to pull up reports on historical patch deployments we have done showing what machines, what date, and what patches were applied to each machine. This report needs to be friendly enough to hand to auditors.

We will be unable to use the Kbox for patching until this feature amongst others gets implemented.

  5. Fix the Patch Catalog

Monthly Quality roll-ups do not supersede Monthly Security-only roll-ups as they should.

  6. Allow for Maintenance Windows for patch deployments

With SCCM there is the option to allow a Maintenance window for a group of machines (collection). So i could have a single patch schedule which defines the group of patches to be deployed and assign it to all systems. The machines would ONLY be able to download and install the patches based on the defined maintenance window.

    Example:
    Server Group A - midnight to 2am
    Server Group B - 2am to 4am
    Server Group C - 4am to 6am

Patch schedule includes all server groups. But based on the respective windows the times these servers will patch will be…

  7. Ability to easily update all computers to a current version of a program ie: Adobe Reader

Would love a check box to bring all computers up to a current version of a software. When we look at Adobe Reader, we server versions 8-11. Would love a check box on patching to bring all installs up to version 11.

  8. Exclude certain machines from labels when patching, scripting, software managed install, etc

When certain machine labels includes some machines that should not be deployed patches or scrpits or software, you select those machines in blank box.

And selected machines are not affected at all.

  9. Smart Label Reporting for Missing Patches

We patch our Servers in Groups of 10 or 20 for easier maintenance and testing. However, we do not automatically deploy these patches to the servers as we want to review each patch and verify that it will not impact any configurations. Right now, once the scheduled patch detection has completed, we have to go through each individual server from the inventory to see what patches are available or run a massive report. This is very time consuming and not very user friendly. I would like to see if there was a way, once the patch detection has completed, an…

  10. Retry button for failed systems on a patch schedule list

Lets say you have 20 DC's as an example and you run the patching and then click on the screen that shows your patching process and after a period of time lets say a couple systems fail the handshake or upload files error, you cannot just click on the two machines or failed machines and hit "retry" for just those machines. What we need to have is a retry button that retries all the failed or systems that do not show "Completed" - so that you don't have to run the whole patching process again for all systems when you…

  11. Change Patch Deployment scheduling so that Notify acceptance is required before deploying patches

    Currently, the NOTIFY section says:
Display an alert dialog to offer the console user a chance to delay or cancel the action before it executes. If no user is logged on to the console, schedule run immediately.

However, in practical sense, this is not good. I only discovered this after having a session with tech support, and this behavior does not work for us. We have a maintenance window for our servers which require manual intervention to allow reboot of the server during a maintenance window. I was planning on setting up the Kace patch deployment to display a notification…

  12. Patch Settings for Online Source should show info about patches.tgz

Should at least have the file size. But would also be nice if a summary of the patches was available.
Since the process of moving new patches to the offline kbox is manual, it would be nice to provide information about whether it needs to be done.

  13. Patch Stat Reset

Create a reset stats button that will recalculate all patch stats on the main Patch screen and the Patch List Screen. These stats occasionally get out of synch with the actual machines that need to be patched or that have failed to patch.

  16. CVE Rating

Apologies if this has been asked before.

It would be great to be able to see the CVE and CVSS score for a given patch.
This could then be used in a dashboard so you could easily identify where to spend your time most appropriately.

I know a lot are often "under analysis" but it's a standard and I think would be beneficial.

  17. Limit when patches are installed

I would like to be able to limit when patches are installed for some clients, eg install starts at 2 AM but finishes at 5 AM.

The reason is that I cannot interrupt a store operation to install patches so these have to run outside of open hours. Whilst I start the patch job at 3AM, I have found some tills were installing patches at 9:30AM and impacted the store's ability to do their start of day process.

  18. "Automatically Reboot: When no one is logged in" seems to reboot computers that are locked. This is not good.

Having users who lock their computers come back to find their work lost/closed because of a reboot is undesirable. "Logged off" needs to mean logged off. It would also be nice to have this option available under 'Force reboot' so that it only reboots when nobody is logged in.

  19. Please add folders to Patch Management Schedules to organize all the different schedules.

I have a lot of patch schedules. Some for servers. Some for computers in different locations. It would be helpful if I could organize these into different folders instead of having them all together.

  20. PC Exception Lists for Patch deployment

I would like to see an Exception list option added to the Patch Management and the Managed Deploy in the K1000.
In our case, we have "General Build Groups for different sites that we manage. In these group there might be 150 - 200 computers. In the General Build we want to have all of them to be patched with latest version of Adobe Reader, Java, .Net. But lets say that out of the 150 - 200 PC's there are 5 that we don't want to update the Java because of a particular Application that requires a particular version of…
