  1. Patching Notification

    Just spit balling a thought that just ran through my head:

    What if Lumension / Kace issued a patching notice / update to admins who register for it? It could be a weekly email thing. In it Lumension could outline newly released patches (MS, et al.) and the projected release dates from Lumension down to our Kboxes. As admins we would know that certain patches we are looking for are in the pipeline and their ETA dates. Now, as admins, we are no longer in the dark wondering where our patches may be. It would keep emails or support tickets…

  2. Allow 'TICK' ticket prefix to be changed

    If you've renamed 'ticket' to something else (e.g. 'request', 'service call' etc.), it would seem logical to be able to change the 'TICK' prefix assigned to a ticket.

    It would also be helpful to be able to apply a different prefix to a different helpdesk queue, or to rename 'TICK' in the event that you have multiple K1000s in production in different locations for different sets of users.

  3. Offboard Backup Retention Settings

    Offboard backup retention settings.

    Currently the v9 offboard backup feature over SFTP is capable of deleting files, however there is no way to configure it to do so. It would be nice to not have to manage the offboard location files independently.

  4. Granting Permissions

    Current permissions on the adminui side are too simplistic, they give too much control. I have helpdesk staff that need the ability to launch Scripts, manage Computer Inventory, and add/edit things in Assets. We are a smaller IT shop, which is the reason our staff has more than tickets to do.

    I'll use the Assets tab as an example. I need the ability to give some users the ability to Create and Edit in some Assets, but not have the ability to Delete. Some other Assets I don't want them to have anything other than Read. Some other users I…

  5. A Best Practice Guide - For K1000

    Would be nice to have a best practice guide on implementing the K1000.
    I think its important for Kace to have a baseline for customers to work within.

    I found it rather difficult in the early stages of our kace implementation the responses i would get from different members of kace. I also think this might get kace support team on the same playing field. I often find i get a different answer every time i ask the same question. When im trying to achieve the one objective.

    Thank you for your suggestion. This has been added to the feature request list. We encourage others to vote as we use this input for prioritizing our release plans.

  7. Add charts to reporting.

    Need the ability to create reports that give a general overview of the results in the form of a few simple charts (bar, pie, ect). This would be well placed as an option for the only thing reported or as a header to the list of machines being reported on.

  8. Add option to install at system startup

    Right now the only managed install options are execute anytime, execute before logon, execute after logon, execute while user logged on, and execute while user logged off. There should be an option to install when the system boots and before the Ctrl+Alt+Del prompt is shown. Right now the "execute before logon" will install literally right before logon: the agent does nothing until someone presses Ctrl+Alt+Delete and then it starts the install, which causes a delay for the person sitting at the computer.

  9. Run now status page for SCHEDULED Kscripts

    The run now status page is somewhat usefull, for Online kscripts that were run NOW. However, for scripts that are scheduled, you need to have a view to see their success failure rate.

  10. Ability to modify the category of tickets in bulk

    Similar to bulk update of status or owner on the ticket summary screen. I recognize that you would need to code for n levels of hierarchy depending on the number of subcategories that are configured.

  11. Allow ability to enable authentication for client shares

    Now that Microsoft is no longer allowing guest access to SMB shares by default, beginning with Windows 10 v1709 (Fall Creators Update), the appliance client share(s) are no longer of any use without changing the default behavior in Windows to be less secure.

    The appliance should allow the admin to enable authentication to the \k1000\client share(s) so that they are usable without compromising Windows security.

    Ideally, existing accounts created or imported into the appliance (In Organizations, on Org enabled appliances) would be able to use this share, but a local account with a password we set would be…

  12. Show mapped network drives in computer inventory

    Would love to have a way to see the mapped network drives for each system in the inventory. We use the inventory when it comes time to replace computer systems and right now we have to call individuals to find out what mapped network drives they have and what mapped network printers they have. This requires us to explain in a lot of cases where to go to look and the network path. It is something we would use on a daily basis.

  13. Service Desk - Add Quick Resolution Tickets

    Allow Service Desk staff to create quick resolution tickets. Choose Action -> Quick Resolution Ticket (This is above and beyond the typical Add New Ticket)
    This would be a quick customized form for tickets that wouldn't normally be tracked (ie. Username/Password resolutions on the phone.) Some of these support calls take too long to create a new ticket, save and then re-enter the ticket to add a resolution to close.

  14. Software inventory aging

    I would like to see an aging process for removal of software that is no longer installed but resides in the software inventory. It wouuld be nice to include an audit process where software is flagged after 90 days of a zero install count to add to a smart label then report before removal from the table.

  15. Ability to edit Descriptions

    In the default Inventory view, there is a field called description. On Windows boxes, it picks up what each machine is labeled as but on Macs, it remains empty. As we typically have the user listed, it would be helpful if this field were editable or if the same information could be pulled from Macs from one of their custom fields.

  16. Dynamic LDAP lookups to assign users to roles

    Currently, when a user is created (either on import, or when they log in), the role they have at that time is assigned to their account, even if the underlying database (e.g. Active Directory) changes. For example, say you've set up the K1000 so that all members of a particular AD security group are admins of the K1000, and all members of another AD security group are K1000 users. If you change a user's AD security group so that they're not in the admin group any longer, that change won't ever take effect on the K1000 and thus the user…

    Digitally signed email attachments sent to the K1000 Service Desk may not show up correctly in the K1000 Service Desk ticket.

    Digitally signed email attachments are not supported at this time. The K1000 only supports plain-text.

  18. Print asset labels

    The ability to print asset labels would be a great addition to the asset portion.

    It would allow you to take fields from the asset management system already and create a label with it to add to the devices.

    Also being able to turn some of the field into a barcode for the label would also be great.

  19. Add Application Whitelisting

    Add Application whitelisting, this is a type of endpoint protection where, by default, all applications are blacklisted and only known good applications are allowed.

    These Known-good applications are kept in a list, KACE seems to have a fairly extensive list of application and signatures which could possibly be leveraged for this purpose.

    Lumention offers this service as part of their suite of endpoint management which competes with KACE. I would like to see this added to KACE;

  20. Ability to stop running patches with one click

    It would be nice to be able to click a “stop” button on the KBOX to stop a currently running patch schedule
