Mac netbooting across subnets
We would like to be able to netboot a Mac across subnets (we have 39 academic subnets on campus, out of about 107 total subnets) without having to issue a bless command on each Mac or having to have an RSA on each subnet. We have a 10.5 server running DeployStudio that handles this just fine, but I'd like to be able to use KBOX for all of our imaging (Windows imaging on KBOX is much nicer than using Ghost).
288 votesWe have implemented a number of requests related to macOS imaging in the past, and while this specific remaining request has a high number of votes we cannot proceed with moving this further into our development process, and here’s why:
For macOS (10.14+), imaging is considered a deprecated technology and is no longer supported. The APFS file system, which is now mandatory for macOS, means imaging is no longer possible. And the newer Apple T2 chip prevents net booting, which is another requirement for imaging. Apple’s recommended replacement for macOS Imaging is provisioning through Modern Device Management (MDM) and transitioning from the SDA to KACE Cloud Mobile Device Manager for macOS device management can provide similar and added benefits, such as:
• Zero-touch Enrollment
• Built in OS support—including support for 10.14+
• Remote Access Benefits

RSA as K1000 Replication Point
If we deploy an RSA to each location, why can't I use it as a K1000 replication point? Doesn't it make sense to use the RSA for this purpose as well as K2000 tasks?
93 votesYou certainly can use a SMB share on the RSA as a replication point.

Support for APFS in macOS High Sierra
With Apple's transition to macOS HIgh Sierra and their new APFS file system protocol, I would like to see native support for APFS when creating a Mac KBE netboot. As Apple recommends moving to APFS with High Sierra, it is not good practice to continue hobbling along with the older file system format.

Import from SMA the task chain simply without the need to create a task group manually.
- Import from SMA the task chains exactly like a task chains in the SDA without the need to import the Managed Installations one by one and then create a task group.
46 votesAfter further review, this feature needs to be declined due to development differences between the SMA and SDA.

Modifying Post Installation Tasks In Each Deployment
Having the ability to modify the post install tasks in each deployment separately so that it is not required to create multiple versions of a single script, or to re-script and replace the post install every time you want to change it. Basically, post install tasks able to accept parameters assigned in the deployment detail page.
46 votesThis could potentially be accomplished per-script, but will not be a native feature, as it defeats the purpose of an automation system.

Block level imaging of systems
We would like the ability to do block level imaging again. Unfortunately this ability was removed with the removal of the linux kbe in the newest K2000 release. So either implement your own program to do block level imaging or allow the customer to create a section in the WinPE environment where they can use 3rd party imaging programs like Acronis or Ghost. We had this ability when we bought Kace and now it was removed. If Acronis & Ghost can do block level imaging in WinPE, Kace should be able to do the same. This truly limits are ability…

Dualboot Windows/Linux + grub
Hello,
I would like to know when it will be possible to create k-Aother images or image format that will manage the Windows / Linux dual boot + Grub. or at least the possibility of an image Creation repeating the entire hard drive (Whatever the grub partition and above)
Thank you in advance.

Monitoring via snmp and open manage
I'd like full support for snmp so that the k2000 can be monitored for issues. Also full dell open manage support on the appliance.

Upload of customised Mac Netboot images, or allow K Image to work from external Netboot Server.
We currently use our Mac hosted Netboot image as a imaging and Disk First Aid emergency repair netboot. Unfortunately the K2000 will not allow custom netboot images to be uploaded, and the application K-Image cannot be run outside of the K2000 hosted image.

Logical Installation task
Would like to see the k2000 have the ability to do logical installations based on chasis type. Such as desktop or laptops. There are applications that only need to be installed on a laptop and it would be great to automate that based on the type of chasis.

Support virtual appliances and RSA hosted on Linux KVM hypervisors

The ability to enter a computer name from the deployment UI.
Instead of entering the name from the computer install, enter it from the UI when setting the deployment.

Standalone RSAs.
It would be very useful if remote site appliances could function without being dependent on a primary KACE server. The RSAs could easily store and verify all of the data that they get from their master appliances (licensing, scripted installations/system image data, etc.), especially since they cache their core content already.
Are there any plans for making this happen, and if so, how far out in the timeline is this feature? Thanks in advance!
