RSA HyperV
Customer running their environment on hyperV would appreciate running the RSA's on hyperv.

This request has been implemented in the SDA (K2) 4.0 release

Given they are not an agile shop, probably 3-5 years.

Hi Ken
When can we expect the next release? -

Can those that mentioned running the RSA in the Hyper-V environment please enlighten us on how they did it?
I've converted the VMWare image to Hyper-V VHD but because Dell is using an ancient version of FreeBSD 7.0 in their RSA, it doesn't seem to work in Hyper-V. The first issue was that no bootloader was defined which I fixed with the FreeBSD Live CD Fdisk utility. But I seem to be stuck now with a cryptic message upon boot with "Default: F1" and hitting F1 or any other key doesn't seem to get it unstuck.

@Guy: Do you mind share your knowledge on how to get the RSA running on a Hyper-V as we are running a POC for Kace and no HyperV support for the K2 RSA is a real issue

We are all still waiting for this magical update that will allow the RSA to run on Hyper-v along with USMT ability on the RSA as well. I am now feeling like Dell used the ol' bait-and-switch on us promising this functionality during the purchasing phase and we are now over a year out with no update. What happened to the deployment promised in the fall!!! There has been 0 communication from Dell on this. Update your user base before you lose them!

Guy, would be nice to know how you got the RSA running on HyperV.
Can you connect to me on : staveli@hotmail.com -

Why on earth did you not create a new RSA device to support Hyper-V? I know it works because we have around 30 RSA devices running on Hyper-V in a production environment so if we can make it work why can't you?!

Thanks for the update Bob, I look forward to being able to place my RSA on one of my new servers.

@michael K2 is currently available as Hyper-V, which is one of your questions. RSA Hyper-V is coming.

We did deliver multicast for Windows in our 3.6 release, and for Mac in 3.7. This work on hosting the RSA on Hyper-V is already underway. Bob, I'd like to talk to you about why you're currently unhappy with the K2000. Please feel free to contact me at robert.crosley@software.dell.com

Yeah, you promised Multicast years ago and that never happened. Why should we believe you?

Corey,
Where can I get this version? I need to deploy multiple RSA's in the next 2 weeks and this will help greatly. Please let me know where I can get the RSA version: 3.7.113224 as it is not listed on the download page.

Still looking for RSA on HyperV. We are a HyperV shop only and I need to deploy over 20 RSA's. When will this be available?? I see there is already a K1000 VHD when is the K2000 coming? This was not discussed in the purchasing process and is now going to inflate the costs as I have to deploy 20 new machines to run VMWARE. Please address this ASAP!!!

Hello to you all.
So,I have some interesting news... We have managed to get the K2000 RSA working on HyperV 2012 R2 and we have it actively running in production on some sites. There is a small issue where the NIC card is only 100Mb card however this isn't a huge issue as the RSA is slow anyway.
What has annoyed me is that with a few days work we have managed to get the K2000 RSA working and Dell STILL have no bothered to get support for this (even in an unsupported manor!) -

Will be really helpful if both K1100 and K2000 can be supported on Hyper V (am using 2008 R2 but soon upgrading to 2012 R2)
am sure many organisations using Hyper V based environment and we could really do with keeping KACE as VMs .
thanks

@Andy - VHDx is much better than VHD. The limitations in VHD (such as IDE and RAM allocation/speed) is a factor. VHDx offers SCSI (SAS) speeds and UEFI boot times. A much better platform to build on as well.
...Although, I'm not going to turn down a VHD solution =]

@Jarred - Do you have to have VHDx over VHD?

We have a Hyper-V server at all of our remote sites (since Hyper-V is part of 2012r2, no point in not utilizing it).
