Higher Drive Capacity
Would like to have the ability to raise the capacity above the 250 GB. Either allow for a second array for slots 3 and 4 or allow the primary drives in slot 1 and 2 to be increased. 250 GB limitation is way too small.

I agree as well. Having to replace existing equipment to get something that should have had from the beginning is not a fix. That is an upgrade or replacement. How Dell released a product for Enterprise without the ability to use a SAN for Storage I will never understand.

Agreed - releasing a new piece of hardware isn't very helpful for the alread-installed userbase. We've already started phasing our k2000 out of production.

I'm sorry but how can you consider this completed? Requiring us to buy new HW to get around this problem is not a fix. Very poor form Dell. Will be speaking with my Account Rep.

Any work into improving the virtualized version?

I don't know about all of you, but for us it's just a VMWare appliance. I should be able to adjust the size of the storage in VMware and resize the logical storage on a virtual machine. Administrative access to the product we purchase would solve a lot of problems.

What about ISCSI SAN? NFS should not be the only option.

So existing customers and stuck in the same situation. Nice work Dell!

Will existing hardware be able to use external NFS storage with the new software?

YEAH!!!

I am also in the boat of liking to have more on board storage. I've looked into the external storage option but I would be happier more on board storage. I would be OK with having to export all my K2000 items then add the HDD's and then add my items back to my appliance. Having 500GB as the new minimum would be nice but 1TB would be the new ideal.

have you all looked in to the external storage options afforded by the 3.4 upgrade? you can just use a NAS as storage...

Would like to know a status of this. Is it feasible? It seems to have been over a year since this was posted, would a / the response be somewhere else?

With some users having 100Gb+ of data, this constraint makes the K2k useless for our production purposes (upgrading 300+ DELL laptops on 25+ sites, from WinXP to Win7).

Is there any update to this suggestion? It says planned but is there an ETA for release to the update?

This is a very important requirement and should be heeded.

Also needed for the virtual appliance!

Please consider adding support for attaching to iscsi sans.

One other possibility would be allow attachment of a SAN.

This would be very beneficial for environments that cannot scale back to scripted installations due to large amounts of different software per department.
