Make the isos non-windows work again!
With the new version v4.1, ISOs not windows, uploaded KBE Manipulator, aren't loaded. Wimboot is defined as the only way to load KBEs.
Adding a checkbox in KBE details webpage (a row in KBDB.IMINSTALLATIONSOURCE) to set/unset the specific KBE for using memdisk instead of wimboot can be a solution. After saving the KBE, it modify the ipxe menu in the way we want the KBE to be loaded.
This checkbox status can also be use in the UEFI mode, for hiding the se specific KBEs entries from the ipxe menu.
something like that
- KBE with checkbox set as a iso :
iseq ${platform} pcbios && item entry-xyz
:entry-xyz
initrd boot/ipxe/xyz/bios/kbexyz.iso
chain /memdisk iso raw
NB : The checkbox in default KBE (windows x86 or x64) cannot be set (wimboot by default)

This suggestion was completed in version 6.0.

Please bring this back as it is very useful for booting to non windows images for network testing.

We need DBAN to work again as we encrypt our hard drives and are unable to boot into the KBE until we manually uninstall the encryption(takes an hour minimum to remove encryption) or DBAN it. We are currently left with having to use USB drives to run the DBAN.

So the secret is still having the old KBE Manipulator. The system still supports it, but you have to upload your ISOs with v3.7 of KBE Manipulator. Unfortunately, v3.7 of KBE Manipulator requires it's own workarounds to make it work with current version of KACE Media Manager, so while workarounds are available, it would be great if Quest would but this functionality into the next update of KBE Manipulator.

I agree, losing that functionality is bad

I do agree and we are using it to install Linux on more than 1.000 of PCs in our university

I really like this. We boot different non Windows tools over PXE for maintaining the system (antivirus scanner for checking systems outside the OS, dban etc)
