Capture Full Backup of SDA
Currently, backups are only done if a change to the item being backed up has occurred. This is incremental behavior. We should have the option to specify this behavior (via checkbox, for example).
What I would like is the ability to do a full backup of everything at will - scheduled or otherwise.
An example of a problem arising from the current solution is this: empty the Restore share and then try to back everything up. You cannot. If you offload your backup and then lose it, you cannot make another full backup.
Ideally, everything would be rolled up into a TGZ like the backups in the K1000. Having a single backup file is MUCH easier than having to backup the 50 packages I deal with now.

Looks like this suggestion hasn't received much love. It's still important, however.
We're told we should not backup the appliance using our 3rd party backup tools, however, the tech notes on the subject tell us to manually backup all of our packages and then move them off-board.
The K2000 should have a simple backup routine, built-in, and preferably to an external location. Manually exporting numerous packages is not an adequate solution to a routine IT requirement.

The ability to be able to do a full backup of the packages should be considered a basic function of the system. I was shocked to find out that we don't have that ability any more after upgrading to the latest version. It is urgent that we have the capability to know that we have a good backup of the system.

I totall agree with Andy, in the event of the box needing a complete restore for whatever reason, you need to have all packages in one place to avoid having to sort through multiple 100's of directories to find the most current package.
Ideally, as Andy has suggested, the backup should be configured to roll all packages into a TGZ and export the TGZ to a Samba share bypassing the restore directory.
This will allow us to do a full export every night and then run a Linux script to only keep the X most recent backups. This way the backup is simplified and the restore share on the K2000 is kept clean for restores.

I suppose instead of titling this "Change Backup Behavior", I should have used "Add Full Backup Functionality".

We only use scripted installs, and we're only using 12% of disk space on the K2100.
I'm not suggesting you change the present behavior, but I'd like the option of performing a simple full backup.

I understand this, but the full backup could ultimately lead to filling up your K2000, depending on the size of your images, post installations tasks, boot environments and source media. Netboot images are 6Gbs, Win 7 Source CDs are 3Gb, If you have 3 images, each 20Gb, you now have a 100Gb backup. A full backup would need to be stored elsewhere for this to be viable. Maybe once expanded storage is implemented?

Sorry, I underestimated. I now have 86 individual backup files.
