Please tell us how you’d like to see the System Deployment Appliance product improved!

name manual deployments
It would be great if we had the option to name a manual deployment. That way when multiple deployments are kicked off we can follow which is which.

Quick view for all Dell models supported by KBE
Be able to click on a KBE in the K2000 and see what Dell supported workstations they will work on. Having the driver report is nice, but having to search for the actual network driver for the machine I am working on is a pain. Being able to see the model and OS the KBE would speed up this process.

Multiple images on one usb stick
the download to usb bootable is great. but with a 64gb usb stick it could store a bunch of images. All multiple images to be written to the same usb stick. Then create a very simple menu that prompts the user for which image to deploy.
Could have the install to usb installer create a simple inventory file to record which images on are the usb and in what folder, then simply build the menu from it.8 votes -
Slipstream Patches Into scripted Install
It would be very beneficial to have the K2000 be able to slipstream MS patches similar to nlite/RT7lite with all current patches. Right now a Windows 7 sp1 Scripted install has 170 patches pending from MS.
I see our K1000 as a maintainer of machines not an initial configuratior.109 votesWe’re looking at this after we get more K1000 synchronization built into the K2000.

Add a Patch Feed for scripted imaging just like the drivers feed
Add a patch feed that you can subscribe to MS patches, adobe patches firefox ect and then apply patch feeds to scripted images so your images always come off the bench with the latest patching.

K2000 and Bit Locker
Issue: If MS BitLocker is enabled on the Client Computer, then when the BIOS hands off the boot process to PXE via the NIC and 'times out', then boots to the HDD, after it hits the pxe boot menu, this will trigger bitlocker.
Solution: I need a way for the BIOS to hand control off to PXE and once the PXE option menu is encountered and it defaults to the HDD, but w/o this process triggering MS bitlocker drive encryption.

Kace agent automatically install on the K2000 as a post install task when new updates come out
Wouldn't it be great if when a new agent update came out on the K1000 that you wouldn't have to manually update your post install task for the agent on the K2000.

Dualboot Windows/Linux + grub
Hello,
I would like to know when it will be possible to create k-Aother images or image format that will manage the Windows / Linux dual boot + Grub. or at least the possibility of an image Creation repeating the entire hard drive (Whatever the grub partition and above)
Thank you in advance.

Adding a single SI/KI to multiple RSAs at one time
If I create a new image and I want to sync that out to all my RSAs, it would be nice to have an option to add that item to sync to "selected RSAs" or "All RSAs" instead of having to add the image individually to each RSA, which is painful when you have 10+ RSAs.
13 votesWe agree! This is great feature and the team is working diligently to get it into a future release. Stay tuned for more details.

Add support for Dell ImageDirect images
We have a set of Windows images on Dell's ImageDirect site that would be nice to upload over to the K2000, either from the site, or via ISO files.
10 votesIn the future, we may have a much tighter integration with Dell factory processes, where you can use your K2000 as a ‘Dell-Factory-in-a-Box’

Custom Columns in Deployments area
Allow customers to change the width of existing data columns, add custom columns with pre-existing fields (i.e. date created, last date modified, last date used), and remove columns that customer does not need or want (i.e. hostname) all within the Deployments area of the K2000.
This would great help the organization of images, and the quick viewing of information for image rotation, updating, statistics, etc.

Have Host Name displayed in the Systems Inventory when you boot a pc to the KBE
I am deploying Windows 7 on pc's that currently have Windows XP.
They XP machines have never been booted in the Kace 2100.
I am hoping for a solution that when I boot a existing domain pc into the KBE that the Host name would appear with or with out the IP address.
(Right now I have hundreds of PC's to deploy and I am labeling the Host Name Manually for the IP address)Also If you did not have a hostname for the pc yet because It is a brand new workstation. Once a Image or Scripted Install is…

k2 Off-Board Package Transfer 'backup now' option

Create a Retire Option
Create a "retire" setting for KBEs, SIs, images, pre/post-install tasks, etc so they are preserved on the KBOX, but they don't appear on boot menu/post install list unless un-retired
5 votesThe main issue is space; if you have that many KBE/SI/Images/Tasks, you are likely running low on space. Wouldn’t things be better served by exporting/deleting? Reimport when you need them again? Nevertheless, with external storage being available to everyone as of next version, this will be a more compelling feature we’ll look into.

Built-in Wiki and/or Customizable Main Page
Along with the idea of a customizable MOTD, I'd love to see a build in customizable or even basic wiki to add how-tos for new employees being trained to use our KACE system and to reference things and changed we've made.
4 votesWe will be revamping the UI to include customizable dashboards in the future; this will be a consideration during that time.

Built in Auto-Update of certain post install tasks
For a lot of my post install tasks i add features like java/flash player/IE - would it be possible to have the k2000 come with a set of built in tasks that auto update to the latest current version instead of me having to make a new post install task for each new version of the following:
flash
java
IE
airso if we had a built in "latest or current java" post install task it would be an automatically updated post installation task.
2 votesThis unfortunately would require the K2 to have similar functionality to the K1. If there is software that needs to be up-to-date on your endpoints, you would likely be better served with the advanced features of the K1 instead.

upload custom config.xml file for USMT
K2000 - allow upload of a custom config.xml file to better configure USMT.

Support for XPS13 and other ultrabooks.
It would be nice to have Scripted Installation support for the XPS13 and other ultrabooks that do not have an ethernet port.

When gathering machine name, IP, MAC info, by default also include the CMID, MS new way of licensing useing KMS.
At PCC we built our own KMS server that replicates to MS KMS server for licensing complience. It would be great if by default this was one of the colum lines in the infor along with computer name, IP, MAC etc, that could now include CMID. If there was an area on the info page to type in the FQN of the KMS server...that would be helpfull and save much time as well. Maybe have a box to check to use or not use.
