Credentials Management
K1000 has a Credentials Vault, could we also add Credentials Management to the SDA k2000, so that scripts or other scripts don't have hard coded username and password in post install task.
Credentials Management or a password vault for Post and PRE task would be great.
Thanks.

Select post install tasks from KBE UI
It would be great to have all of the post install tasks listed in the KBE UI so that they can be selected at the time of image deployment. This would be easier than having to remember to edit a deployment before hand or being able to deploy the same image with different post install tasks at the same time.

Can we include a delayed reboot option?
During post installation tasks processing even after a successful completion we may need delay before Kace engine reboots the computer especially if its the last task.
For instance, I have a .bat file that pulls an installation from the internet the Kace appliance will move onto the next task or reboot before it finishes.
Adding a timeout /t 30 will not delay the reboot.

syslog
Provide an option to send syslogs to a server (like a SIEM). I see it is planned for the next major release of the SMA. Is the same feature schedule for SDA?

Highlight KACE Default-Tasks in Library
Per default, several pre-installation, mid-level and post-installation tasks exist on the SDA. When you start adding more tasks, it quickly becomes confusing which tasks belong to KACE and which are self-created.
I think it would be great if they were visually distinguished. At a glance, you would be able to see your tasks and the ones from KACE.6 votes -
Allow audit mode when creating an image
When doing a scripted image, it will be helpful to put that image into audit mode automatically so you can more changes to it before syspreping it again.

Add a widget on Dashboard to show whether scheduled sync to RSA(s) failed or was successful.
Add a widget on Dashboard to show whether scheduled sync to RSA(s) failed or was successful, maybe have a widget to show the status of all scheduled operations. Would be nice to know if something failed without having to wade through logs or submenus.

The CSR generator needs to support SAN's as it does in the SMA v8.1
I am speaking from SDA v5.1 perspective. I do not know if SDA v6.0 has already resolved this. The SMA v8.1 resolves this issue.
The issue is described in this knowledge base article:
https://support.quest.com/kace-systems-deployment-appliance/kb/230041/error-net-err_cert_common_name_invalid-certificate-error-on-browser-230041-The SSL certificate signing request feature needs to support the entry of SAN's.

Increase frequency of updates to the KBE Driver Packs and notification when KBE's have been updated
When new Dell workstations are purchased, I have to download the drivers from the Dell website because the NIC or Storage drivers aren't compatible with new Dell hardware.
I'd like for the KBE's to be a step ahead (or at least even) with the release of new hardware.
Also, I'd like notification that a new KBE driver pack is available. A date on the Dell KBE download page would be an improvement. There is nothing now.
4 votesNote that the date does appear on the download page now. But this has been added to the feature request list. We encourage others to vote as we use this input for prioritizing our release plans.

Prompt for Post install tasks during image processing
It would be nice to have the ability to get a prompt to come up and ask what other post install tasks need to run during the image process.
Use case: when a machine gets an image deployed, and on certain machines have a prompt come up and have any additional tasks be checked off to run after the OS is installed.

Ability for sysprep creator to run custom powershell files before sysprepping or select custom unattend answer file.
I Like the Sysprep Executor utility as it's fairly intuitive and user friendly when it's being ran prior to a capture, it however has a few barriers preventing me from using it.
- Custom Unattend answer file.
I have a few answer files created manually in WSIM as use a few settings that are not available in the Sysprep Creator menu, would it be possible to add an option to sysprep creator to select an unattend XML file instead of generating one via the menu options?
- Support for custom .bat,.cmd or .ps1 files prior to capture.
I have a script that…

Disable "capture image" option from RSAs
We should have a option to disable or hide the "capture image" from RSAs. For security reasons, we do not need other RSA locations to create their own images. Plus, since Kace already has issues capturing devices from RSAs (if not linking them by IP address), then the image fails and we're unable to delete the failed image from both the RSA or the SDA. We just recently had this issue and had to submit a ticket for Quest support to fix it via tether.

Quick view for all Dell models supported by KBE
Be able to click on a KBE in the K2000 and see what Dell supported workstations they will work on. Having the driver report is nice, but having to search for the actual network driver for the machine I am working on is a pain. Being able to see the model and OS the KBE would speed up this process.

Please add the ability when importing packages to be able to upload a zip directly without have to extract it first.
Currently, you have to extract a pkg or xml file from a zip before uploading then importing a new package. The SDA should be smart enough to find the pkg file within the zip without the need to extract the file manually first.

Validity tool for the SSL certificate that has been enabled on SDA (K2000)
There should be a troubleshooting tool on the WebUI to check the validity (expiration date, CA, intermediate CA authority) of the certificate that has been installed.

modifying task que list
I came across a customer where rsa updates had hung for about a week, after we rebooted the task que had a few hundred tasks to do. For all the rsa's I had to enter each rsa to cancel the update manually, and that did take a lot of time. If we could get access to the task que directly we could have marked all the items we didn't want to do at the moment, and deleted them from the que in one operation.

name manual deployments
It would be great if we had the option to name a manual deployment. That way when multiple deployments are kicked off we can follow which is which.

Having a git like task repository
several of us are working on deployment tasks. It would be convenient to be able to manage these tasks through a git repository (or other cvs, svn...) in order to be able to follow the changes made by colleagues.

Driver Feed - automate install into appliance of models in inventory
You guys have an inventory of device "model" for network booted devices. It would be great if there was an option where this information could be used to automatically enable/install Dell Driver Feed drivers into the SDA. With options of drivers for which OS (i.e. I only want windows 10 x64 drivers), and some kind of threshold option (like maybe 3 same model in inventory before auto enabled/installed).
Inversely maybe an additional option to delete drivers when there are 0 of the model/s in the SDA inventory (maybe in a specified period).

These sound very interesting. The retention concept for drivers that aren’t needed sounds great.
We will review these further and determine their place within our product backlog. -
Better RSA sync scheduling - mimic SMA days/hours
Many of my RSAs are in locations that have VERY limited hours I can use max bandwidth. Why can't there be a calendar setup like the SMA where I can specify what hours of what day of the week sync'ing can occur? I have to manually start/stop sync'ing as there's not enough granularity in scheduling the sync. Why can't we have the low/high bandwidth settings just like the SMA? I spend WEEKS, not hours trying to sync my RSAs.
