RSA user state capture
The ability for the RSA to capture user states.

This request has been implemented in the SDA (K2) 4.1 release

We are nearly a year out since the last update. Can you give us an guess on when this update will come out...

Waiting to deploy a number of RSAs until Hyper-V available. Any update on when this will be ready?

Are we close to getting this new feature?

Totally agree with this feature request

The latest release and adition features of the User state capture feature on the k2000 was highly needed but not being able to choose storage paths really should of been thought of during the implementation..
For a product that promotes the ability to work on remote machines, this suffers when you have the bring a user state back to your K2000 unit.

Chris, I gave up on trying to use the USMT with the K2000. I just using Windows Easy Transfer as it captures more than USMT and is very customizable to catch all kinds of files and folders that USMT will ignore.
For us the RSA is just a box that stores the images. Luckily we have ESX hosts at all our sites, so we can deploy that part easily enough.

Without the RSA pulling User States from PCs at all our remote sites (most of the company) the K2000 is utterly useless for our migration to Windows 7.
Very disappointing, KACE.

Is there any chance to be able to capture images onto the RSA instead of capturing it on the K2000 then pushing it out to the RSA? It would help out if we could capture it on the RSA

Like so many KBOX users, we have remote/branch offices with a small WAN pipe and constricted VPN-type access to the head office. This is fine for sync'ing an RSA and a K2000, but wholly impractical for shoving entire User-States back to the primary K2000. It doesn't seem like a hard challenge to have an RSA kick off a ScanState/LoadState, and have the PC save/load the data to/from that RSA. PLEASE implement this feature! We've been waiting for it and hoping for it for over a YEAR!

Like Zerin, we were given the impression that the RSA would function as a remote K2000 (including all of its features). We purchased a mobile workstation with dual 750GB HDDs in a RAID 1 config, running the RSA in a VM. Our plan was to ship it around to our remote sites for Win 7 migrations (including USMT scans). Some of the sites are so remote they're limited to a 3G WWAN connection. The RSA appeared to be our savior as we cannot possibly scan and restore .MIG files over a connection like that. Sadly it was only after scan_user_states.bat bombed repeatedly during scripted install testing that KACE support informed us the RSA does not perform USMT scans. Please enable this function. It is essential to the timely success of our project. Judging from the responses I know others would benefit as well.

I would like to use USMT to capture profiles in a remote site, but I cannot do that with the RSA. When will that be available as a feature?

Lack of this feature effectively makes USMT unusable if RSA is intended to be used.

I am trying to use the K2000 to kick off my own USMT scripts that copy to a DFS namespace share present at each location (so the copy will be via LAN).
Would be a whole lot easier if the K2000 could just use the RSA's we have deployed already. -

Totally agree with this feature request. If I need to capture a user state from a machine at a remote site, it copies that over the WAN to our central K2 appliance. We then have to sync it all the way back down to the RSA at that site again. Our bandwidth is very low and pretty much makes the whole USMT side of things redundant as we simply can't use it. If the RSA could capture the user profile locally, then that would open up so many more options to us.

I know this can be accomplished via some complicated scripting, however this was promised to us as a feature of the K2000 RSA in pre-sales. Finding out post-sales that this was NOT a feature was rather disappointing to say the least. This feature is extremely important for us to utilize the K2000 to carry out Windows 7 migrations at our 17 remote sites. Without an easy way to capture these user states, there is simply no efficient way to be hands off in migrating our remote offices.
It's March 2012 and this STILL hasnt been completed!

Really need to be able to capture user states from the K2000 console since it is a headache having to go to each machine to capture the states.

In addition to the ability to dump user states to the RSA, it would be nice if a user could perform the USMT dump directly from the KBE. As is, we are going to use custom scripting for USMT, because it would be a nightmare for an admin to have to manually pull user states from individual systems before a user re-images.
