1. View pending changes before replication

   It would be very beneficial to view what changes are pending replication be fore actually replicating. When more than one admin has access to make changes, they can see if another admin has been changes and verify that it is safe to replicate the changes in their current state.

2. Consolidated Profile History

   In each Profile, there is an option to view the change history. I would like to see this ability added to the parent Profile section to view a consolidated history of all changes made to all sub-profiles.

3. Add Validation Logic Rule - Directory Exists

   Please add a Validation Logic Rule that checks whether a Directory Exists or not. There is a "File Exists" rule but there are plenty of circumstances when a directory needs to be validated for existence.

4. KACE Appliance Linking

   I would like to see the ability to link DA with the SMA. I'm sure this would not be an easy thing but to be able to see DA information in the SMA, such as logs, Expert Assist, seeing a computer is reporting in on DA off-network where the SMA cannot see it, importing and distributing new SMA Agents when they become available, and more, could be a big benefit.

   I know that on the SMA side, you can use custom inventory to query a lot of the information, and there's the Device Action capability that can be used to kick off Expert Assist but these abilities, great as they are, are not true integrations and, I don't know about others, but my Custom Inventory list is getting exhausting to go through and how nice would it be to see the computer's Expert Assist availability regardless of the device being connected/talking to the SMA. More information and better integrations could really bring these KACE products together.

   Another benefit would be using the SSO ability that is used between the SMA and SDA. You can hop between the two with ease once you are logged into one of them.

   Just my two cents.

5. Be able to control User Configuration Profiles programmatically with an API

   We would like to be able to control (User) Profiles in Desktop Authority with an API, for example REST API. With User Profiles we are refereeing to the Profiles that are located in Desktop Authority under Client Configuration.

   We would really want this feature because we have approximately 70 User Profiles spread across multiple Desktop Authory installations / Active Directory domains.

   Use cases:
   • Create a User Profile for a new customer
   • List all User Profiles elements (we have User Profiles with settings that are applicable for multiple customers, that need to be identical across multiple domains and this now very challenging. With an API with could use PowerShell to compare User Profiles)
   • List all the Application Launchers for every User Profile
   • Create a new Registry element inside an existing User Profile.
   • Update the ‘One Time (User)’ UID for one or more Application Launchers
   • List all the shortcuts that belong to a specific User Profile.

6. Remove snooze button from scripting message windows

   When using the "Create a message window" option in the scripting engine, the message box displayed to the user should not include a snooze button - or at the very least, when configuring the message window, there should be an option to show or hide the snooze button. Often, we are using the message window solely for informational purposes for the user, (ie. to notify them that a process is about to begin). Having a snooze button show up here is extremely confusing for end users. Attached is the configuration of a message box (Capture2.PNG) and the message actually displayed for the user (Capture.PNG). This should purely be an informational message, and the user should simply be presented with just an "OK" or "Dismiss" button.

7. Disable splash screen in Logon and Logoff

   Disable splash screen in Logon and Logoff still show pop ups.
   It would be good if DA offer the option to remove any pop up window when at user logon or logoff.
   Settings in global config do not accomplish that, still shows information.
   This is a problem, because if the user sees a pop up that do not expect, it will contact help-desk.
   Desktop Authority user logon and logoff should have a silent option where the user does not see any splash screen / popup window.

9. Web UI navigation makes administration slow and painful

   I was a huge fan of Desktop Authority when it ran as an application UI, before it became a web UI. The Web UI is so slow to refresh and make changes that it has more than doubled the time necessary to complete tasks that used to be instantaneous in the application UI. Creating, deploying, administering Printers for large organizations used to be a huge advantage and very organized in the old UI. Now, one must forward through endless screens and wait for slow refresh times to add, remove, copy, paste or reorder printer elements. A Task that used to take 5 minutes can now easily take 30 minutes. For small companies, it is not to bad, but larger companies with dozens or hundreds of elements created in various categories, a once efficient task is now unbearable. I used to push this application to every I.T. associate I knew. Now I don't even want to use it myself and have begun using Group Policy more an more to try and phase this application out of use at our customers.

10. Ability to filter all rules based on validation logic

    A client brought up the request of wanting to be able to see all rules applied to a given PC name. An example was: which shortcuts and drive mappings are applied to all devices named PC-Example*. This was outside of looking at an sltrace file or performing a database query.

    We have added this to our backlog but somehow reported this back via status update here was overlooked. If anyone else would like to see this added to product please vote this idea up.

11. email signature plain text conversion

    I am using the Outlook element to set corporate email signatures in HTML format. It works well. However, when replying to a plain text email, then no signature gets displayed at all. At the very least, it should change the signature from HTML to plain text, but it doesn't. Or, it would be nice if we can force all replies to HTML, regardless of the format of the original email?

    If you would like to see a plain text conversion added to Desktop Authority you can submit the request to our User Voice forum and it will be reviewed by the Product Manager.

12. USB Encryption

    Option to force USB encryption if DA allows a user to use USB.
    Option for administrator to set encryption password or allow the user to set their own password.
    Option to save those passwords in the DA database in case the user forget the password.

13. Configure default applications in Windows 10

    Currently it is only possible to configure default applications (Browser, Mail, PDF viewer) in Windows 10 by using Group Policy Templates and Windows' DISM tool to generate an XML file that can be pushed using File Operations. There should be an easier feaure included to configure default applications for certain scenarios.

14. Actually allow Admin Right Execution for Pre/Post Engine Scripting instead of lying in your Documentation

    The documentation for DA (at least back to version 9.3) specifically states that you can add a switch (in this case /admin) to the end of the file name for any pre or post engine script, but that's not how it actually works! DA won't let you add spaces or switches to the file name. So I guess my idea is maybe, just maybe, you should make the product actually function like your own documentation states it does. Can't wait to find out what else DA doesn't do that it should!

    I can’t blame you for your frustration that the product is not behaving as advertised! I will make sure that we link any Support case you may have in the system and also work with R&D to make sure we document the product pre/post scripting more accurately – or better yet, make sure we fix the switch capability you are looking for but could not find.

It looks like with the new and updated versions of Windows 10 Pro we cannot push simple GPO through Desktop Authority. It looks like Microsoft changed the way some of these things are pushed out. A fix would be nice for Desktop Authority to push out even a simple wallpaper background or lock screen for Windows 10 Pro. My understanding is that it can be done inside Windows 10 Education or Enterprise, but NOT pro.

18. Responsive Website and Dynamic Loading

    We all should be clear the Desktop Authority Console is due for a major refresh and not that little kick that happened to Archive Manager this needs a Major.

    First in particular I find often times entry boxes are to small and get mangled when entering multiple large items into setting boxes. particular GPO with multiple line items.

    Second that huge bold black bar at the top of the page is ridiculous. It eats up 1/8 of my total screen just to put your logo on it. Time for this to go.

    Third Really unless you have 1000s of items in Desktop Authority under each of the profile items I should never need to click on a second page. One area I run into this is the add/remove admx files I have (241) and its just bad trying to navigate between them. Also checkboxes would be great. The whole click/multi select here is unreliable.

    Fourth its 2018 fixed with webpages were dead in 2010.

    We all should be clear the Desktop Authority Console is due for a major refresh and not that little kick that happened to Archive Manager this needs a Major.

19. Improve Group Policy Template Handling

    I like Desktop Authority but I find the handling of Group Policy Items to be frusterating.
    My First issue is that its a slow responding part of the website. The time that it takes to click in and out of the policy templates, add new ADMX Files and other aspects to making configurations here is painstakingly slow. To the point I'm about to abandon using the GPO Section of DA.

    The second is the difficulty of finding a specific policy item. Often I'm not sure what ADMX file I need to add in order to apply a GPO setting and it takes forever to parse through all of the options. I would greatly love a search feature or some type of improvement to quickly locate a specific entry.

20. Update documentation and examples

    Much of the documentation and examples for things like Dynamic Variables are really outdated. For example, here is the documentation and examples given for a couple variables:

    Consider that there is a generation of support personnel that didn't use computers with the above operation systems or folder paths. I have to stop and thing about it for a second for some of the variables to make sure I'm using the correct one for Windows 10. Some variables, I can't even tell if they are available such as one for ProgramData.

    Much of the documentation and examples for things like Dynamic Variables are really outdated. For example, here is the documentation and examples given for a couple variables:

    $OsType
    Operating System type:
    95 - Windows 95
    98 - Windows 98
    NT - All versions of NT/2000
    
    $ProfileDirAU **This one isn't in the documentation
    Full path of the "All Users" profile
    "C:\WinNT\Profiles\All Users"
    "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users"
    

    Consider that there is a generation of support personnel that didn't use computers with the above operation systems or folder paths. I have to stop and thing about it for a second for some of… more
