    Ways to unify the identity of machines on the K1000 and K2000 are on the roadmap, and some have been implemented in 3.3. Unclear if MAC address is reliable enough to assure identity, what with ARP issues and the like, but we’re looking at ways to make integrated appliances work better together.

    Well since K2000 only gets MAC from its node clients I'm not sure how else the K2000 would get the true host name from the K1000 for any given machine then. All I'm looking for is an automated way to (reliably) NOT have to manually enter host names on the K2000 that in fact end-up in the K1000 anyway.
