6.4 introduced a credential store, so it's a shame LDAP labels don't use it yet. Surely it's planned ?

I fully support PowerShell integration into all areas of K1000. As others have said, the 32/64 bit matter can cause issues (esp when working with registry from PowerShell scripts). Would like to see that fixed.

Just the ability to upload a ps1 file as an asset and have K1000 manage execution would be a nice gain, even better with parameter management. The various workarounds on itninja/kace KB do work, but are not so pretty.

Another area for the product team to consider is to allow PowerShell to be used in addition to cmd.exe within custom inventory rules. It's possible to get it working now but adds length and escape character complexities to the rule, and on occasion you hit the text limit. Just imagine how useful/powerfull the below could be?

    PowerShellCommandTextReturn(Get-SomeInfomation)
    Instead of:
    ShellCommandDateReturn(cmd /c powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -command "& {Get-SomeInfomation}")

It can be tough to know which escape characters to use when using longer powershell commands for custom inventory tasks. Base64 encoding to PoSH command can help, but that's not so friendly for the admin who wants to know which commands are to be run or when making small adjustments during testing.

Thanks in advance for listening on this topic and all things PowerShell!

    Neil

Thank you for your input. Offering both 32 and 64 bit clients would double our Windows agent QA testing time and we are sensitive to the impact of extending test times as it impacts our ability to release full-featured updates at our desired pace. A surprisingly large amount of our customers still need 32bit support today. We are going to continue monitoring this closely to determine the best time to drop 32 bit support (of course older versions of the agent would still be available once we moved to 64 bit). In the meantime, it would be helpful to know specifically what difficulties a 32bit client is causing so we might consider work-arounds in parallel with the 64bit only decision.

Over the coming releases, we will be revamping our targeting and scheduling pages. This a great example of where we will extend your ability to control what you are targeting and when it should be delivered.
