As previously announced, we adopted a new Dell Updates framework starting in the KACE Systems Management Appliance (SMA) release 11.1. This change was triggered by Dell’s plan to end of life the framework previously used by KACE. This new framework developed by Dell is supposed to bring additional capabilities as it matures. We are keeping a close eye on these incremental improvements made by Dell and are hopeful that things like mass passing of passwords will come in time to develop against.

We’d like to improve schedulling and automated tasks across the board on the K2000.

I’m not as enthusiastic about supporting user state migration to non-K2000 storage. The advantage of the K2000 is that everything’s centralized. We already have export of user state in 3.3. If the problem is not having enough native storage on the K2000, we’ve heard that loud and clear.

Our desktop team uses the PXE features of the k2 to logon to the KBE to image machines. The problem being that they then have access to all of the images stored on the k2. I would be nice to have the ability to define roles on the k2 and assign them certain functionality and access to certain production images.
