This would also be very useful for us that have a similar situation. Though what gets me is why when we set the updates going automatically on a sunday morning at 04:30 some over run and are still going on a Monday morning at 09:00!!

This would be a very good idea if it could be implemented. I have several technicians using the ServiceDesk but they each have a separate view of what tickets they see. So we've missed a few jobs that for some reason fall through the cracks. One is "waiting on response" because they were all using customised views that never took this "view" into account.

What I would like to do is to create a customised view that covers all new, open, re-opened, awaiting response etc and then set that as the default view for all my technicians.

But at the moment I can't do that.

We are currently going through our systems with a fine toothed comb looking for security issues and this is something that has flagged up.

Very useful from our point of view as this would then feed directly into a range of other dates/task etc that are automatically populated into our Outlook calendars.

Another area that needs improvement! We've been using KACE for over a year. As pointed out in the other comments there is no real standard way of doing things. Each "expert" has their own opinion or method and there is no way of knowing which way is best to start with, or to try out. We spent a lot of time experimenting, and while making mistakes is a good way of learning it seems that every user of KACE has to make mistakes to make progress!!

Some sort of manual / best practice guide would be good.

Also have everything in one place would be advantageous too. A lot of information is out there but it is spread across many different formats/locations etc and its time consuming to find the relevant bit of information.

Have voted for other changes to the Knowledge base as well. This is another area of KACE that could do with improvements

Useful. At the moment asset labels are copied and pasted into a separate app and then printed out. Doing this from within KACE would be quicker. Also incorporating barcodes would be good too.

This is something else that we are finding with KACE that would be nice to change. Changing "name" to something a little more appropriate for the asset type would be useful given the many varied types we are creating.

We've only been running KACE for about 6 months and we've already come up against this problem. We've populated a number of labels with the required PCs and regularly run updates against these labels, but we do find instances where we do need to exclude particular ones on an ad hoc basis. The ability to exclude a PC as and when needed, rather than editing the label each time would be very useful.

We currently do not use KACE for our Macs - we have 450+ Macs in our estate. So while our PCs (<200) are very well supported by KACE our Macs aren't. One of the issues is the documentation as mentioned above, its simply doesn't cover what we need to know.

My organisation is starting to use the KACE KB but are finding it rather limited. Our old helpdesk system did a much better job of KBs than KACE (6.3) does. Things like Author field, date when created/published, date for review, peer reviewed, etc would be useful additions to it. Also the ability to write KBs in different fonts etc would be useful. Addition of screen shots into KBs would be very useful too.

    Just my few cents worth!
